My business plan is based on time moving past 2012. I'm quite certain at least one cult will improve the gene pool by removing themselves from it on that day.

Personally, I believe the earth is not moving toward an end but rather a transformation in 2012. See my post concerning "Shumann Resonance".

BTW, the Mayans are not the only ones who foresaw this, also the Egytians and the ancient Chinese(through the I Ching). Also the Hopi indians believe the earth will suffer great travail and shake off the evil spirits in 2012.

I'll let you know when I get there.....however I have noticed a HUGE commercial industry has emerged from it.....thousands of 'experts' have suddenly appeared and are making a fortune inciting their version of coming events...

The mayans believed that there were four ages or worlds before this one in which we are living in. The calendar is like a precise astronomical clock. It seems alot of people feel safe in assuming that when the this calendar cycles through that something horrible will happen. I would remind people that when clocks, calendars, seasons and cycles end that new ones begin. When fear and panic pushes aside reason and sense that is when humanity is trully at risk.spock

(That would mean there are a bunch of crazy people doing the talking.)

I think it marks the beginning of a new age. The age of Aquarius, ~ called the man with the water pitcher.

Three years and counting. We shall see.

I'm really quite excited to see what happens this next three years.

If we make it to Dec 21, 2013 I will be more relaxed.

So what happens on Dec 21 2012? At 11:11 a.m. world time, the sun will arrive at the galactic center of the equator of the Milky Way and it will cross over to the other side of Galaxy. (The lighter side which has more stars.)

Our solar system's angle of rotation is at a different angle from the Milky Way's rotation. That is because our solar system was captured by the Milky way in a collision many years ago. The Milky way is not our parent galaxy. We are being adopted.

If the tilt of our solar system is effected by the gravity at this crossing, perhaps it will tilt to match the Milky Way's tilt. (Just my thoughts)

Our solar system is surrounded by an energy field. If it does tilt, how might that effect the planets? Will they remain intact in relation to our sun? I don't see why not.

There are dangers in this crossing, but I think our solar system will survive. Remember it's not just the earth but the entire solar system is making this crossing.

******************

Then there are stories about planet X and some say that this is a large planet-looking space ship that travels throughout the galaxy. It is also said that this planet-spaceship is inhabited by many different races of alien beings and that it is currently in our solar system.

It there is any truth to this, perhaps they are here to watch this crossing over.

Some say that this planet will at some time soon become visible to the naked eye in our sky, changing a lot of people's perceptions of the universe.

I think it will be very interesting, even if nothing at all happens.

Even if Cycle 24 has truly begun, "don't expect any great storms right away." Solar cycles last 11 years and take time to build up to fever pitch. For a while, perhaps one or two years, Cycle 23 and Cycle 24 will actually share the sun, making it a hodgepodge of backward and forward spots. Eventually, Cycle 24 will take over completely; then the fireworks will really begin.

The astronomer Philip Plait has stated very clearly that the Mayan calendar does not end in 2012 at all, that it is like the odometer on your car, as each section of the odometer reaches 9 and then clicks over to 0, the next number to it starts a new cycle, so that when all the numbers again reach 0 all the way across the odometer - the last number will change from 1 to 2 and the new cycle starts all over again.

It just ends, the calender says nothing.

Think about it, when does your calender hanging on your wall end?

Think about it, does any calender go on forever accurately?

Answer : no

I am familiar with that site, it was in my bookmarks. My question was more less to find out what the general consensous is concerning how the Mayans had knowledge of those long cycles. Devinely imparted? Aliens? What do you think?

How did the Dogon people of SW Africa posess knowledge about a star system which wasn't confirmed by science until 1975?

Looking for other opinions on things like that I guess.
