People lie for various reasons and try to rationalize and justify. Some to protect the loved ones. Some to protect self. Some to gain something. Some to prevent losing something. Some without conscience (pathological/biological defect). Some out of fear. Also, telling half the truth is considered a "lie." So.... the big question.

Not sure, sometimes its because Im ashamed of who I really am? Maybe its because I want to look better than just regular old me, granted Im not a lair but Ive lied on occasions for very stupid reasons, but thus is life and regrets are what make you not want to do it again.

I'm guilty of white lies with some of my friends. Especially the ones that can't cook. Bless them, at least they try.

These are dangerous kind. Just watch the American Idol. How many white lies have been fed to these worst performers? Perhaps they are lying to themselves daily. |

I just don't see the point in being brutal to someone who went out of their way to cook for me. I do the same thing to friends or family who ask me how they look when we're out at a restaurant, or ballgame, etc. What's the point in making them feel bad about how they look when it's too late to do anything about it? I could see saying something if they ask me when we're at home & it would take 2 seconds to fix. Just my opinion.
