Topic: Yahweh and Jesus, what's the difference?

I don't get it. I here Yahweh, I here Jesus, I here that the Bible said a child would be born named Emanuel...

I here that Jesus was not his real name, it was Joshua.... etc etc.

Why so many names? And everyone knows Jesus was not born on Christmas so why are children taught these things as if they were facts?

Yahweh is the heavenly Father's name

Emmanuael means El is with us....I'd have to get really deep into that one, and will only do that if you sincerely want to know...

Yahshua is the Messiah name (he was a Hebrew and Hebrew parents give their children Hebrew names not Greek names)

Yahshua means Yah's Salvation

jesus is a made up name, with no meaning, rhyme or reason behind it.
If one was going to translate the name Yahshua it would be Joshua, not jesus. Although why people insist with the fallacy that one's name changes from country to country is a mystery to me. My name is my name in every country I have been to, and it has never changed.

Two names: Yahweh the Heavenly Father, Yahshua The Messiah Yah's son

As for why people tell their children that last lie I don't know. I find it very disturbing. What is even worse they teach their children about the mythical character satan's claws...oops I means santa claws, no santa claus. I guess the jc and sc go hand in hand, neither of them Scripture.

To make matters worse they are lying to their babies and when their child is old enough to know the truth, they start wondering what else did their parents lie about...that opens up a whole new can of worms!

Shalom!

Excellent answer! Normally, most christians don't even know the difference between Jesus and God. I'm impressed. I gotta look at your profile now. Most of these christians that post I don't respond to 'cause they know so little or they think they know so much! Grace & Peace, David

I had to look at your profile too!flowerforyou

if u don't believe in any, why do u care anyhow?
that is the part which i don't get from non-believers.
By God the name say it "NON=BELIEVER" that should mean "I do not believe. Therefore, I do not care."

thats the diffrence between believers and non, non-believers still seek knowlage where as believers do not understand that, thay have done their thinking and refuse to see any other Possibilities.

People who don't believe what you believe are not non-believers.

They just have different myths.

Everyone is an Atheist when it comes to other gods.

They dont like being reminded that their bible is merely the Christian Creation Mythology though. Their book is factual and everyone elses is man-made.

I'm actually trying to understand the "believers."

And you are correct, I don't really care. I don't think "God" (or whatever manifested all of this) actually has a name or even a personality.

I am just trying to get a better understanding of why there are so many names for God and I think that some of these entities might be impostors or someone pretending or mistook for a god.

To me, a "NON-BELIEVER" is someone who does not believe in aliens.bigsmile

There are so many names to God as was posted in this thread... I think it's for our benefit as God wants us to fully understand His nature & how it relates to us & our relationship to Him. He was called that by His own when they realized what He meant to them.

Loving Father...Gentle Sheppard... Councilor, Comforter, Almighty, Living God, root of jesse... the scarlet thread out Rahab's window ...and all the jehovah names... So many names to WE relate to our experience in knowing God.

The bible is confusing but just enough so that people can misinterpret it in whatever manner they choose and no one can positively refute their claims because its a 2000 year old document. However the law of the OT is pretty clear on certain points and one of them was stoning unruly children to death.

perishing, oh you mean like the kids in the hospitals dieing of cancer, and the ones being raped and murdered.
The ones the your god cares so much for that he just watches it happen.

God can not help them.

God can help them but refuses to.

There is no God.

It has to be one of these three, which one is it?

It must be very satisfiying when you don't have to actually help people you can just say I "prayed" for them and sit back and watch them suffer.

LOL... as I said before...I can see how those who are perishing would see it your way.

It doesn't matter, god loves all of His children...in spite of the curse. He is here to help & comfort all those who need Him. People in hospitals know that most of all.

...but you keep with that samll minded thinking. It's to your own frustration.

All those are not names.

They are discriptions of Yahweh who he is.

In no way are those his names. They are added to his name as a discription and all those places where you see those discription shown as names.

Did not do the scriptures justice.

All of those in hebrew have Yahweh-..Like Yahwehshalom.. Which means Yahweh is peace.

Same as in the Messiah's name does.

Yah the poetic short form of his name used as a family name.

Yahshua points to him being part of that family as we hope we are.

His name means and points to Yahweh Saves or Yahweh is Salvation.

This is why it says everyone who calls upon the name of Yahweh shall be saved in the future.

just as George's name is not president.

Joe's name is not plummer.

Why this lie has come down so far and people just can not see it makes no sence at all to say those are names would not say Hey Plummer and expect Joe in an audience to know they are speaking to him..

No logic when it comes to scripture.

We cry you try to keep the Law. and many points of it .

Yet those who stick to this tradition of these being names are the same as Yahshua blasted the pharasees.. No difference.

What you do, do though is ponder a lie that makes what you want the scripture to say, say.

The only reason Satan has this a truth among people. The father of all lies is behind it and if you agree with him then continue saying the Attributes of Yahweh are his different names.. Blessings...Miles
