People who believe in global warming probably also bought the thousand dollar generators for the year 1999-2000 crisis.

About recycling...I used to recycle but since our glorious leaders made it a law in our state to recycle or get fined they lost my support.Seattle and Washington leads the country in recycling because people wanted to do the right thing. They rewarded us by going through our garbage looking for recyclables and writing us a ticket if they find any. That sounds alot like Communism and thanks to the liberals of Seattle I throw everything in the garbage now.My long years of recycling starting in 1985 came to a end because of idiotic laws like this and I have no intention of recycling anything ever again.

To all you tree hugging, hemp wearing, stinky, pimple faced pot smokers...God gave us pointed teeth for a reason. To eat meat.Nothing I like more then sitting down after a hard days work and eating a huge steak with a side of fries.

Every time I fart I know it pisses Al gore off so I try to do it often!

Why does anyone that cares about the environment have to be tree hugging, hemp wearing, stinky, pimple faced pot smokers? You are the most judgmental person I have ever seen. You are just plain bitter. No wonder you are single. You know red meat is linked to colon cancer, right? It would be a shame if that steak you eat rots your colon. whoa

Oh yeah your right I forgot a few...girls with hairy armpits, always drives a subaru, volvo,or any other non American car,and no blood for oil protestor.

Yeah I know red meat is linked to colon cancer but breathing air is linked to lung cancer so I guess we are both screwed.

I maybe single but I sure don't want to date some stinky tree hugger. There is someone for everyone. There is lots of people who think like I do and birds of a feather flock together.

Everywhere in Europe we are feeling the changes, we have no 4 seasons anymore. It's more like 2, and the differences between them are not that great either.
The winters we used to have in Germany with lots of snow during December and January are long gone. Here in Ireland I haven't seen snow for years, and they used to have snow in winters too.
And you are telling me there is no Global Warming, no changes in climate?

You better wake up fast.

It's that way in my area too. Fall and spring are getting shorter and shorter. It seems like there's mostly hot summer and bam - here come's winter.

I have never believed in global warming but I wonder why there are still people who believe this bull crap. All around the nation we are having record low tempetures followed by record amounts of snow.Even places like New york city are getting 2-4 inches of snow. Here in Seattle we are getting snow and alot of it.We normally get 1/4" maybe once or twice a year.We have already gotten several feet and it isn't even January. It seems like it is more like global cooling to me Mr.Gore.

I also remember when I was in high school back in 1990's the scientest told us that in 10 years we could not go out in the daytime because of the hole in the O zone layer. They said we would have to wear a one of those silver suits like they have in the steel mills if we wanted to go out in the daytime. This crap will pass just like that one.

Where I live (New Hampshire) there is also no recycling laws. I take it upon myself to do so. I make the extra effort.

Same here. drinker

I've taught my child to do it too.

I posted this earlier but though we needed a refresher. And yes this is facts that happened this year and not predictions.

Articles for the 2008 year

So what about the weather? I know specific weather events do not make climate, even though global warming alarmists do use this to their advantage when it comes to floods, hurricanes, earthquakes, tornados and the like (see Hoaxers Using Weather Inaccurately to Promote Cause). Let’s take a look back at some weather events from the last year. But before we do that, have a look at this Reuters article that claimed 2008 would be in the top 10 warmest years: 2008 to be in top 10 warmest years say forecasters and, conversely, an article that says just the opposite: Scientists Expect a Cooler 2008. And, by year’s end, Australia had the coldest August in 35 years, A town in South Africa had the coldest September night - ever, Denver set two record lows, Charlotte had the coldest November in 32 years and record cold hit Montana. And that’s just from the last page of my cold weather posts. How about more weather posts?

For Global warming being so important and so close to the point of no return Mr.loudmouth Al gore sure hasn't done the slightest bit to do his part flying all over the world in his jet which consumes a average of 415 gallons per hour.Lets not forget his many SUV's and many mansions.

Gore’s mansion, located in the posh Belle Meade area of Nashville, consumes more electricity every month than the average American household uses in an entire year, according to the Nashville Electric Service (NES).The average household in America consumes 10,656 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, according to the Department of Energy. In 2006, Gore devoured nearly 221,000 kWh — more than 20 times the national average.
Last August alone, Gore burned through 22,619 kWh — guzzling more than twice the electricity in one month than an average American family uses in an entire year. As a result of his energy consumption, Gore’s average monthly electric bill topped $1,359. Since the release of An Inconvenient Truth, Gore’s energy consumption has increased from an average of 16,200 kWh per month in 2005, to 18,400 kWh per month in 2006.

Gore’s extravagant energy use does not stop at his electric bill. Natural gas bills for Gore’s mansion and guest house averaged $1,080 per month last year.

“As the spokesman of choice for the global warming movement, Al Gore has to be willing to walk to walk, not just talk the talk, when it comes to home energy use,” said Tennessee Center for Policy Research President Drew Johnson.

In total, Gore paid nearly $30,000 in combined electricity and natural gas bills for his Nashville estate in 2006.

how soon we forget...Global Warming ?...part#2...

here's my friend...Walter E. Williams take on the subject of Global Warming...to quote Lyn..." Spot On "...enjoy...

Americans have been rope-a-doped into believing that global warming is going to destroy our planet. Scientists who have been skeptical about manmade global warming have been called traitors or handmaidens of big oil. The Washington Post asserted on May 28, 2006 that there were only "a handful of skeptics" of manmade climate fears. Bill Blakemore on Aug. 30, 2006 said, "After extensive searches, ABC News has found no such (scientific) debate on global warming." U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change Executive Secretary Yvo de Boer said it was "criminally irresponsible" to ignore the urgency of global warming. U.N. special climate envoy Dr. Gro Harlem Brundtland on May 10, 2007 declared the climate debate "over" and added "it's completely immoral, even, to question" the U.N.'s scientific "consensus." In July 23, 2007, CNN's Miles O'Brien said, "The scientific debate is over." Earlier he said that scientific skeptics of manmade catastrophic global warming "are bought and paid for by the fossil fuel industry, usually."

The global warming scare has provided a field day for politicians and others who wish to control our lives. After all, only the imagination limits the kind of laws and restrictions that can be written in the name of saving the planet. Recently, more and more scientists are summoning up the courage to speak out and present evidence against the global warming rope-a-dope. Atmospheric scientist Stanley B. Goldenberg of the Hurricane Research Division of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said, "It is a blatant lie put forth in the media that makes it seem there is only a fringe of scientists who don't buy into anthropogenic global warming."

Dr. Goldenberg has the company of at least 650 noted scientists documented in the recently released U.S. Senate Minority Report: "More Than 650 International Scientists Dissent Over Man-Made Global Warming Claims: Scientists Continue to Debunk 'Consensus' in 2008." The scientists, not environmental activists, include Ivar Giaever, Nobel Laureate in physics, who said, "I am a skeptic … Global warming has become a new religion." Dr. Kiminori Itoh, an environmental physical chemist, said warming fears are the "worst scientific scandal in the history … When people come to know what the truth is, they will feel deceived by science and scientists." "So far, real measurements give no ground for concern about a catastrophic future warming," said Dr. Jarl R. Ahlbeck, a chemical engineer at Abo Akademi University in Finland, author of 200 scientific publications and former Greenpeace member. Atmospheric physicist James A. Peden, formerly of the Space Research and Coordination Center in Pittsburgh, said, "Many (scientists) are now searching for a way to back out quietly (from promoting warming fears), without having their professional careers ruined."

The fact of the matter is an increasing amount of climate research suggests a possibility of global cooling. Geologist Dr. Don J. Easterbrook, Emeritus Professor at Western Washington University says, "Recent solar changes suggest that it could be fairly severe, perhaps more like the 1880 to 1915 cool cycle than the more moderate 1945-1977 cool cycle. A more drastic cooling, similar to that during the Dalton and Maunder minimums, could plunge the Earth into another Little Ice Age, but only time will tell if that is likely." Geologist Dr. David Gee, chairman of the science committee of the 2008 International Geological Congress, currently at Uppsala University in Sweden asks, "For how many years must the planet cool before we begin to understand that the planet is not warming? For how many years must cooling go on?"

That's a vital question for Americans to ask. Once laws are written, they are very difficult, if not impossible, to repeal. If a time would ever come when the permafrost returns to northern U.S., as far south as New Jersey as it once did, it's not inconceivable that Congress, caught in the grip of the global warming zealots, would keep all the laws on the books they wrote in the name of fighting global warming. Personally, I would not put it past them to write more.

I read that and then I rebutted......sigh

rebutting is one thing...disproving the facts and findings of 650 scientists worldwide...is another...I keep seeing additions to this subject by posters...using their own backyards as " samples "...well...in all honesty...where I live...summer now runs from mid-June...to mid-September...when I was growing up...summer ran from mid-May until mid-September...winter around here runs until the end of April now...do you realize that the average global temperature has gone down 1 degree in the last ten years ?...I think if you did your own research...and had to answer one question " Are your winters or summers increasing in length ? "...I think most people who answer honestly would agree...that their winters are increasing and their summers are shrinking...

Giocamo's photo

I think the arguement between scientists in recent years is the cause...if any...man vs the Sun...theres quite a bit of data...showing a brighter sun in the last few decades...although...the past few years scientists believe the the sun is now in a " quiet "...phase...with no real temperature change globally...some scientists believe that if there has been any spike in global temperatures recently...that the cause was the El Nino of 1998...I guess if scientists can't agree...or...find common ground...then how on Earth can we...the people agree...
