You my friend are possibly one of the stupidist people I have ever had the misfortune to read A blog from, just in case nobody told you, (dumb ass) global warming is an extreme in temperatures not just cold weather, so really bad winters as well as really bad summers is what global warming is all about.
Now if you are going to post a blog, just maybe you should know what you are talking about.bigsmile

You know someone calling me alot of names just tells me the intelligence from the poster.I can tell that debating you would be like debating a piece of concrete. As for you theory...it's called global warming not global cooling.Winters are supposed to get warmer not cooler. If you think you are smarter than me try finding me a single article that says colder winters are due to global warming.

Actually one concern is a change is the salinity of the oceans due to the melting of polar ice. It is believed that this will cause a cooling change in the warm Gulf Steam flow which keeps Northern Europe temperate, resulting in a colder climate in Europe.

Seriously though, it appears to me that it's only an excuse to proliferate your "be fruitful and multiply" crap to the tune of over 6 billion humans on earth. You have been sold a bill of goods that you can take dominion over this planet because once you die you will be going to a better place and leaving it behind. No worry about anyone else of course. Thats irrelevant to you.

" be fruitful and multiply "...that phrase always brings a smile to my face...in an episode of All In The Family...Archie and the Meathead were having their usual argument over social matters and conduct...in this episode it was about " homosexuals "...thats when Archie quotes the Bible and says to the Meathead..." Be fruitful and multiply, and here we a group of people who only want to break even "...

I have always thought that man going to space helped create all of this. Each time the space shuttle tears another hole in the atmosphere. I think space is awesome, but I feel like it's hurting our planet more and more each time the space shuttle launches.

A toxic component of rocket fuel has been found in breast milk of women in 18 states and store-bought milk from various locations around the country.

The chemical, perchlorate, can impede adult metabolism and cause retardation in fetuses, among other things. It leaches into groundwater from various military facilities.

Previous studies have found perchlorate in drinking water, on lettuce, and in cows milk.

The new research, announced this week, suggests perchlorate is a bigger problem than thought, scientists said.

Texas Tech University researchers studied 36 samples of breast milk from women in 18 states and 47 samples cow's milk purchased from stores in 11 states. Every sample of breast milk contained perchlorate, as did all but one sample of dairy milk.

The highest levels were found in women from New Jersey, New Mexico, Missouri, Nebraska and California, in that order.
The results are detailed in the online version of Environmental Science & Technology, a journal of the American Chemical Society. The work was led by Texas Tech biochemist Purnendu Dasgupta.

"We've got to come to grips with the perchlorate situation quickly,'' said California Senator Dianne Feinstein in a statement. "And EPA has to move quickly to set a national drinking water standard that protects the health and safety of all Americans.''

The details

Perchlorate occurs naturally and is also a primary ingredient in solid rocket fuel, munitions and fireworks. Perchlorate does not build up in human tissues over time, scientists say, but there has been speculation it could accumulate in breast milk.

In excess, the chemical can interfere with iodide uptake in the thyroid gland, disrupting adult metabolism and childhood development, scientists say.

In fetuses, it can potentially cause mental retardation, loss of hearing and speech, and motor skill deficits.

The average perchlorate concentration in breast milk samples was 10.5 micrograms per liter. The dairy milk average was 2.0 micrograms per liter. No definitive national standard exists, although the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency had suggested a limit of 1.0 micrograms per liter in drinking water.

And - I - had to read this thread first today!

I think I'll go make bean soup and zucchini bread.
I don't need instructions and I can drink the last of the seasons eggnog (spiked of course).
Do you think the rum will difuse the toxicity of the milk and eggs?

"Don't worry... Be Happy!"

yea and I'll listen to some OLD tunes, high volume, after I start the washing machine. If you use the washing machine, in my house, the hot and cold water get messed up and showers are the pits.

So I figure the baking, the music, and my singing, ought to wake up the room mates, who will be p'st because they can't take a shower.

Mother nature may seem to be cruel but the ire of a roommate, who owns the house, is not something to triffle with. Especially when the freezer is low on stock - freezing some home made soup and zucchini bread will help fill it, and leave little room for their crappy boxed fozen stuff.

They will definately not be thinking about global warming, and I won't have to use Krimsa's lovely speech. Good thing too, rum makes me slurr big words.

nice job Krimsa, you have inspired me, time to go to work and use that inspiration.

Eggnog with spiced rum here as well.

Listen, I am not sure mans impact on global warming or cooling has a big impact but we are a large group and I don't think there's much doubt we have an impact on the environment.

So, if it is possible that we are contributing negatively to the earths environment isn't it better to take proactive actions now to ensure that future generations can, to borrow a phrase, be fruitful and multiply as well?

Isn't it terribly short sighted to say, "You can't prove it so let's keep trashing the place'?

If you are going to the Bible for guidance. Doesn't the Bible say a few things about envy, sloth and greed?

That whole you can't prove it so let's not change reminds me of someone who rolls in the mud, uses toxic drugs, sleeps in a flea ridden bed, dismisses anyone who urges them to clean up for their own good then in the end is surprised when they find themselves ill and without resources.

I tried to use this same logic on my christian conservative friend the other day, and as always we got no where. She absolutely sees all environmentalists as hippies and freaks with long hair.

I have noticed that more christian conservatives feel this same way about global environmental issues, why is that? I do know some conservatives are talking about being responsible, but on the whole most feel as she does.

I am no scientist but I can see, and am old enough to have seen the differences in temperature over time. I say as you have Lynann, why take a chance.

As a basis for their spirituality, it makes no difference to them They were "given dominion" based on what the bible has instructed them to do. Rape and pillage her grand landscape. It is of no consequence to them because they view the earth as
"God's creation" for human use. Its a joke.

It's f*ckin hot here! And time in the sun, even with more and more sun protection, still gets one deep fried...

Just 'cause your back yard has knee deep snow doesn't mean the southern hemisphere isn't feeling the effects of the change in climates....

Pull your head outta your arse, and take a look OUTSIDE of your own back yard... (to quote another poster...) DUMBARSE!!!!!!!!!!!!
