Listen to that little nagging voice inside . If it a real relationship you might not have doubts or feel guilty . It is honorable of you to be the porsued instead of the other way around . Your true friends will fill you in on the weirdness factor . My hope is for eveyone to be happy , and for myself that means a relationship that is total and mutual. She is an adult , enough said.

Thank you, and I have consulted with my closest friends and all they would offer is how much I need to get out and date. Take things slow.. I just worry they say what they think I want to hear. The internet however is a brutal cold yet sometimes caring ear to bend! smile2

Seriously thanks to you all for letting me talk with you about this.

You must be aware that any interaction ,even a tamporary relationship, trumps sitting at home waiting or hoping .You make her happy , she makes you happy ....forget what others say . Go forth and enjoy .

This of course is very true, 16 years sitting home was no picnic.

It is different for a parent . I would imagine that all of your resources went to your kids ....wanting the best for them ....I applaud you for responding . Where would you be if you didnt get involved ? Year 17 / 18...

This is true, and the result is I have two grown children who I love and love me in return. I regret nothing. I just am ready for a little me time.

flowerforyou I understand what Gypsy is saying, but look at history, look at the bible, look at the rich "Older" guys. There is nothing wrong with an older man being with a younger woman (as long as she is over legal age). Its not a thing. Its not unusual. 27 is not a kid. 27 is a mature adult that can be with who they choose.flowerforyou Its normal. This woman would be acting the same with any other guy regardless of his age.

Let's put this into perspective. He's 47, she's 27. A twenty year difference. Some people think that there is no problem with this. Alright, fine.

Now, let's go back in time a bit.

Let's make HIM 27, and her, 7.

What's the problem with this? It's still the same 20 year difference.

There is NO WAY IN HELL that I would date anyone more than 4 or 5 years younger than me, at most!
