I am 47 years old. Up the street I have some friends I have known for oh 23 years or so. We are good friends. They have a daughter who is 27 and has a girl of her own ansd they live with her parents.I have built computers for them and done on and off repairs on them over the years. Last march after fixing her little girls computer she asked me if she could buy me lunch. I laughed and told her it wasn't necessary and went on my way.

The next day at work she calls me and asks me again. I tell her she really doesn't have to do that. She then says "Sky I am trying to tell you I want to get to know you better!!!" I had no clue she was interested in me. So I said OK on one condition you let me take you out Friday night. She agreed and we dated the next couple months and got intimate.

I would buy things for her and I down deep was sure she was only interested in me as a novelty and what I could spend. So to keep myself in denial when she commented one day on something she would like to have. I kinda hinted like "Aww I wish I had the money I would love to get that for you" she responded "That's OK I don't want you to buy it" I did this maybe one time.

So a few weeks later we slowed down seeing each other till we wouldn't talk for maybe a week or so then she might call and say hey can you fix this or that. I would fix it then she would tell me she misses me so much can we do lunch or dinner. Then we are meeting once a week and doing that. Meanwhile she has been dating other guys and I encouraged her one night that she was young and needed to date. Then she tells me that's why she loves me so much!!??? WTH? LOL

Anyway that pretty much was a month or so ago. I get an e-mail the other day from her asking me How I am is anything new and how she misses me and ends with "Love you always" WTH? Here we go again. What do you people make of all this? I need someone from the outside looking in to maybe explain to me what I have gotten myself into here.

Whats to make of it?Sounds normal to me.I dont really see age being an issue either.I have had several casual/more than casual relationships/friendships with women like that.

Its not that.......you are a sorta father figure........someone who will "take care" of her. I.E. fix things for her.....do things for her.....emotionally not at the same place though.

hahaaaaaaaa I know!!! The thing is......Ive had friends when I was younger doing the same thing. 19 yrs old with a 40 yr old. I found it creepy.....and I would ask them what the attraction was. They always said, they wanted someone to "take care of them"....financially. This is a no brainer!!!

nononononono. I am sorry but I disagree with that. 27 isnt exactly a kid, and all kind of chicks ask dudes to do stuff for them. I get asked to help out and fix stuff by girls that know me. Nobody is calling me dad

I see what you're saying. So is it ok to spend time with her? I mean she is a gamer like me and we have so much to talk about. I just don't want to be pegged as a weirdo around the neighborhood. I don't know I guess I need some advice. Seriously there has been no purchasing going on for a long time she knows my pockets aren't real deep.

Theres nothing to worry about dude. Seriously. It sounds like a normal friendship/relationship.The age issue is irrelevant. The chick is 27. If she is cool with being with you there is NOTHING wrong with that. All kindsa dudes are with younger chicks. Young chicks CAN be attracted to older men.

What I dont get is why her parents are "ok" with him dating her since they have been friends. I dont think I would like it if my son started dating one of my friends!!

You're only 31. I know what she's talking about. When I was about 23-24 yrs. old I dated a man in his mid to late 30's. I shouldn't have but he was fun and had money to go places. I was too young for him.

Edit: I'm 49 and I wouldn't date a 27 yr. old.

Its not abnormal for an "older" dude to get with a younger chick. Even to marry them. Been going on for centuries.

Believe me I know I am not the complete innocent here!!! I admit it made me feel good to walk into Spencers or Gamestop at the mall with this gorgeous girl hanging on my arm or holding my hand. Creepy yeah I probably should be shot!

But "older" gentlemen get with "younger" women all the time. Its not unusual
