Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I am the beholder and she is the beauty! If someone thinks otherwise, they probably need glasses or a brain that works right. I have owned "ugly cars", "ugly clothes", "ugly furniture". But I did not think they were ugly, otherwise I never would have bought them. I don't care what other people think about my preferences. I like that too!!!!!! |

I don't think it is so much whether or not someone is overweight or considered 'ugly' by media based society. It is all a matter of how one presents themselves and what their personality is.
Haha maybe I only believe that because I'm one of those people that the media based society find's 'unattractive'. XD |

The problem with too many now days are they seem to need approval from others on what they do and how they do it. People should learn to go with their own feelings no matter what others say. For what works for one person or appeals to them may not to the next person. Myself I go with what I like and could care less what others think. As long as I like them and they like me that is all that matters.

The only "ugly" I would avoid is an "ugly" personality. |

Do you think that if you try to start a relationship with someone that isn't very attractive, and/or is overweight,it makes you look bad too? You may think so if you are very insecure; have issues with weight; or have some pretty serious control issues, yourself. The things we cannot tolerate in others are usually the things we most dislike or have not accepted about ourselves. |

I think that may very well be the best logic I have heard! Gonna have to start thinking more like that!!!!!!! i tried this beauty is in the eye of the beerholder theory last night...all i saw was twice as many people. double everything! |

On a site like this where things are mostly visual you can really tell the difference. I know some people who login everyday with 20+ emails. Granted, these are generally not really quality people, but being attractive does have some advantages. are you saying those of us with full inboxes daily are not quality people usually or dont get contacted by quality people? i realize this doesnt play into the gist of what you were saying but was just curious..... |
