One card will be drawn for the spiritual energy of the moment and interpreted by jeanniebean.

Card Drawn: The Star

This is a great card for spiritual energy! Whenever I draw this card it is like someone saying to me, "Everything will be alright and is as it should be, there is nothing to fear."

It reminds us that we are linked to a higher plane, a more evolved vibration.

Think balance and harmony and all things associated with Aquarius. In the wake of the Tower's violent eruption, you are inspired to reach for your highest potential.

The star will guide you to your destination with the gentleness of her soft light.

This card represent your spiritual connection to your higher self, and your personal concept of God.

The message of this card is mostly: "HAVE FAITH."

Actually the card in the upright position is associated with hope or plans being fullfilled. It represents mankind's connection to enlightenment, the divine and spiritual freedom.
Also it's postion in a particular spread can affect its meaning, I am working under the assumption that this was a single card draw so i would say that card represents faith and efforts rewarded. Interesting that it is a Major Arcana, did you exlude the minor arcana win drawing from the deck?

Yes this was a single card draw, and no, I always pull from a full 80 card deck.

Yes your interpretation is also correct. This was a one card reading and it was meant for a spiritual reading.

There are as many different interpretations for Tarot cards as there are readers. Each reader eventually develops their own personal meanings as well as the traditional ones according to what certain symbols mean to their unique experience.

I have never heard of a 80 card deck, sounds interesting, perhaps you could tell me more it?
I myself work with a standard 78 card Waite or Marseilles deck.

This deck is one that me and my friend Darla designed for our own use. We added two cards so the deck has 80 cards total. The two cards we added are the Dark Magician and the Dark Priestess. They are warning cards.

The Dark magician warns that someone is either very angry at you or wants to do you harm. (or even may be practicing dark magic against you.) The Dark priestess warns that there is a spy in your circle whose loyalty is not with you.

The rest of the cards are a standard deck with traditional meanings. Over time, some of those cards have taken on extra meanings.

If you checked "other" in your profile you will have the "other" thread listed on your computer.

I have two tarot card reading threads in that forum if you are interested.

That's awesome there are still some purists out there that claim the decks can't be modified or changed but I try explain the use of symbolism throughout faiths, the occult and divination systems and how this continues to change and conform over time throughout the systems and centuries. Sounds like a really neat variation.
I would have to say my personal favorite is the Hermit. I remeber the first card that was ever drawn for me was the Moon, shows up constantly in my own personal readings. I not sure if it is trying to indicate people betraying me constantly in my life, or the factor of the esoteric, the occult and the unknown which is a constant as well. Perhaps both but those two themes are always in the readings. Pretty strange huh?

My friend Darla is a collector of Tarot decks and books. I am mostly an artist. I have learned a lot about the Tarot from my association with her and in creating the deck.

We are about to complete a second deck which we copyright, print and start selling some time next year.

Purists? I have never heard of anyone claiming that decks can't be modified. I don't like anyone telling me I can't do something.

Yes symbolism does change over time, and for a personal deck, the symbolism can be very personal to the reader.

The moon and the hermit go well together and if they reflect your energy I would say that you are a person who is very interested in the secret knowledge and maybe the occult, although perhaps a bit spooked or maybe just fascinated by it.

Thats actually pretty close, I research and study in arcane, occult and spiritual knowledge. I don't fear as my parents would of had me believing. I try to strike a balance in most things, Faith and reason, Existence and non-existence, knowledge and understanding. Guess it is what drives me, trying to get the answers, find the truth as it were. I was afflicted with diabetes so my friends were always few and limited. Where i didn't have friends i turned to books, research and finding out why. I find most of my studies leading me into the eastern esoterics in my life. I tend to rely more on the eastern system of the I Ching for consultations but that has not hindered my research of others. People say i tend to be more philosophical in my ways then spiritual or scientific but i find that helps me maintain a balance in my thinking and beliefs that suits me well.

My good friend who is working with me creating these Tarot Decks is diabetic. She was very sick at one time, and even went blind for a while. She is doing well now but still has to be very careful to eat and check her blood.

Her being a Tarot card fan, and me being an artist, we work real well together designing the cards. I am also teaching her to oil paint.

We may name our Tarot Deck with both of our last names since all the cool names for tarot decks are being used already.

TODAY'S SPIRITUAL CARD READING
December 18th 2008

CARD DRAWN: FIVE OF WANDS.

The five of wands is an important card when it comes to a spiritual reading.

The card is about the energy of competition.

When you feel you must compete for things you are always in a hurry and there is a lot of exciting action filled with rivalry. Although this card means that you will overcome the competition, when looking at the spiritual meaning it has a different meaning within my personal system for reading cards.

Our card pictures two knights competing in a jousting contest. For the spiritual meaning, the clash between the two knights represent inner conflict between your little self and the spiritual being who is your true self.

The advice of this card tells me to surrender to my true spiritual self and to stop struggling.

The universe is friendly to us and yet we sometimes act like little children screaming "I want to do it myself!"

Wallace D. Wattles, in his book "The Science of Getting Rich" states that "The more men who get rich on the competitive plane, the worse for others; the more who get rich on the creative plane, the better for others."

"You are to become a creator, not a competitor; you are going to get what you want, but in such a way that when you get it every other man will have more than he has now."

So when I see the five of wands I stop and ask myself if I am being creative or competitive. Am I rushing around in a hurry because of a competitive mind or am I using creative thinking to accomplish my tasks of the day?

The five of wands often indicates that you are having a bad day. It is a day where you "got up on the wrong side of the bed." But the day is a bad day because you are operating in the competitive mind and not the creative mind and you are sometimes competing with your higher self who knows more than you do and the conflict is an inner conflict.

I love this card because it reminds me to relax and be creative and stop being my own worst enemy.
