Topic: "IN YOUR FACE" - part 2 | |

Our Christmas tradition...get the hell out of my parents place as soon as possible...(About 10 minutes after eating or doing the unwanted gift exchange.) Then my sis and bro-in-law skip out soon after to rendezvous at my place for shots of Crown and getting lit. I don't mind doing the obligatory Christmas for my Sister's ugly baby...but, as an adult none of my family has any real interest in the gaudy decorations, crappy music or giving and recieving sh*t that none of us actually need. Im splittin a gut over that one!! |

I am just telling it like it is Dee. Not easy to contain all this holiday enthusiasm.

Hi there Celtic and everyone.
Let's see...actual Christmas traditions that the Krupa family endures..... The glazed over look in everyones eyes when Dad finds yet another Bible Chapter to read that has absolutely nothing to do with Jesus....You would think he would run out of them eventually. The side long glances we shoot to each other when we are being grilled by Grandma and the other side of the family on our church attendance records....(I just can't force myself to feel bad when we just lie about it) Slipping out onto the back deck to horf down a smoke and top off our Crown and cokes. (The other side of the family are all old preachers and missionary's and are as fun as a root canal) Me and my sister handing out the presents that Dad scrounges up from flea markets, garage sales and just crap that I swear he finds on the side of the road. ...and I have the honor of gathering all the trash to haul off...(Yes, I know...save the bows....) But, once me and my sis make it back to my house and our friends pop over...then it is a relaxing good time! |

this year should be the normal discussion regarding my life, why I felt the need to move so far away, why I never come back to visit, why am I not settled down yet, how is my dating life going... etc
but the added bonus this year will be that my aunt is engaged and this will be her second marriage, so I think the topic might come up again(it was mentioned when I visited this summer as well) of well this will be her second and you haven't even gotten married once... and yes my family views things that oddly at times, or at least certain members do and yes prying into my life is a trdition for them as well as pointing out what's wrong with it |

OK TODAY'S SUBJECT..... CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS TRADITIONS IN YOUR FAMILY..... To NOT celebrate Christmas with each other (or at all) anymore, that's our tradition. I will be alone with my dog on Christmas day. Just another day I guess. Christmas is crap. I'll be glad when it is over, as I always am. Blah...... |
|

Food and football.......
kinda "Thanksgiving II" some tradition.....I know!!!!!! but at least we dont delve into the comercial crap anymore. |
|
|

and yes prying into my life is a tradition for them as well as pointing out what's wrong with it we must be related..... my family does the same thing.... so glad when they just leave me the hell alone and never write, never call, and never ever once have they ever came to visit... weeeee |

Then stop on by Celtic and Phone! Once I am done with the official misery...tradition at MY house...is
Knock back some Crown and Cokes. Put on some real Christmas tunes (Bob Marley or Southern Rock) and shoot the sh!t for a while and finally I cook something...I generally do sea food...I am thinking shrimp and crab legs this year...it always seems to be a hit. |
