SUPPOSEDLY, they're supposed to be "music artists", although I have yet to hear anything actually musical come from them, as well as all their contemporaries.

Nevermind that. They can't make any real music because it has too many notes. They get confused too easily.

Two chords and growling doesn't really constitute as music. That's equivalent to rap.

Try growling in different tones, for days and days on tour without losing you voice, and on top of that play those "two chords" in 16th count syncopated rhythm.

It's too bad you missed out on the concerts in the late 80's to mid 90's.It was the best time for music and a really fun time to be alive espcially if you were a teenager.Yes those glam bands may have looked funny but they put out some amazing music and the concerts were incredible. It wasn't like the crap bands they got now days where a concert is a plain stage with drums, guitars, amps, and a few lights. You went to a Ratt concert back in the day and they had the stage decked out to the max.Lights numbered in the hundreds, and amps and speakers on the stage usually numbered anywhere from 10-20.Bands usually had themes and quite often hot girls up on the stage wearing skimpy outfits.

The party started long before the show.People in the hundreds sat in their cars or on their cars in the parking lot getting drunk, playing loud music, and smoking alot of weed.Beer bottles and beer cans where everywhere. Some concerts like Metallica,Megadeth,Motley crue,Guns and roses and others you often wondered if you would get out of there alive.Cops at the concerts were nearly non-exestant and quite often it was "anything goes" on the main floor.Searching your body or purse for weapons before you went in was pretty much unheard of.It was a great time to be alive.

I personaly love the glam rock bands. The guitar solos in the middle of the songs were not only incredibly hard to play but always used in the songs. The best guitarist in the world played in those bands and guitar solos in the middle of songs is a lost art today. It may seem hard to imagine but bands like Winger,Poison, and Warrant were at the top of the charts and sold out arenas where ever they went.Guitar, drum, and bass solos were almost always played at live concerts another lost art today. When grunge came along it killed the glam movement faster than the guys could get their long hair cut off.It was a move for the better as the image of guys looking like girls was getting old.The metal movement although strong was outdated and getting boring.

The music they have nowadays to me sucks in words I can't use here. You have a bunch of stupid looking kids wearing black makeup and playing chords that take little or no talent.Bands like slipknot, disturbed, and other fag bands just sound like a bunch of noise in a blender.Their concerts are controlled, boring, and anything but dangerous with everyone holding their cell phone up to get a picture. There is no mystery,no magic, just a couple of guys with the minimal amount of gear on stage to take your money.

I was very fortunate to see not only the rise and fall of metal bands but also the glam rock bands and the grunge movment.Once in a while those old bands will come to town and we will all listen to what real rock sounded like back in the day.For those who missed out many of those old bands still tour and if you want to see a good show you shouldn't miss them. Some of my favorite bands....

I gotta get my defenses up for what I'm about to say..
I think Slayer is over-rated. Sorry.
Great band and all, but not the best like everyone deems them to be in my book.

Haha. No need to apologize man. You are entitled to your own opinion just like everybody else.

Some people dis them for their satanic lyrics, but they inspired a lot of great metal bands.

The 70's were great because the music never said what it meant like poetry, you had to discover the meanings for yourself.

The 80's were a blast and the 90's well it was the 90's, but I think all era's had great music and great flops.

Hey the "few" Was my disclaimer grumble

Oh, the list is good man. I still remember watching Headbanger's Ball back when MTV played actual music videos.

Now, you also missed Vixen. Not a great band, but four hot chicks, rockers no less....that gets them in.

I went to Maiden at Merriweather, they were joking about MTV laugh, They said,"MTV approached us about bringing back Headbanger's Ball and Maiden hosting it." We told them, "you suddenly remember Heavy Metal exists!! Go F**K yourself!!" I was dying, and as always Maiden puts on a he** of a show. By the way they also reported working on a new album.
