Absolutely. I reject everyone close enough to meet because they cannot possibly be real.

i know how these sites work, and if they actually allowed me to find someone nearby that was incredible...

The internet would explode.

Anyone midway between 1000 miles and 500 miles I will marry instantly.

500 - 1000 miles? That IS local by internet standards! laugh

You are way cool artgurl, therefore, without even checking, I know you are in Canada or Australia.

Some guy named 'Murphy' set up the system! I have lodged complaints but so far I have received no response...

If you can find someone within 500 miles I will bow down and study your ways jedi master...

I've never met anyone that I wanted to know in a romantic way that was closer than 3000 miles ...

The distance is manageable ... the different countries is proving more problematic... and taking more time to sort out ... grumble

people because of their location? I certainly do. I am far too wise to think that a long distance relationship would ever work at this point in my life and frankly I can't be bothered!

Would love to hear other people's views...

Well if soul mates are possible so are LDRs.

I put that same question out there yesterday, this is a dupe of my remark. So the answer yesterday was definitely it usually doesn't work. Look at my topic. It rarely works. It's hard enough when they live a town away!

sorry annet, didn't see yours. Great replies though - I think you are all very adventurous. Mind you I've been adventurous (married a man who moved to Dubai 4 days later and met up with him 3 months later and lived for 2 yrs in Dubai - crazy!)

SO - I'm really into boring and simple from now on!

Is LDR the Latest Dumb Relationship?

I don't reject for location, but LDR's are already challenging. Although I even recently considered living in one state and working in another, it really was a futile idea. I'm not going anywhere, and as a home and business owner, whoever wants to be with me in the future really needs shallow roots where they live. Right now, my focus is on business, hiring, and digging deeper roots at this point, and maybe, being a new friend to someone.
