Well this will make sense to anyone who believes in Jesus's teachings and will be nonsense to anyone who doesnt, but God created marriage as a sanctified union for a man and a woman.
If you are not "saved" then your marriage is not sanctified regardless, so dont worry about it. Way I see it, you can be a bigot, against gay marriage and be hate oriented. you can be a believer and against gay marriage and be belief oriented. You can be a bigoted believer and be against gay marriage. That would be someone who hates gays because of his own messed up heart but uses the bible to back himself up. They would be incorrect as to what the bible says about gays. or you can be a non-believer who does not agree with same sex marriage but does not hate them. That would make you a non-bigoted opninionator Agnostically inclined Tolerant-meister? |

No it does not make them a bigot.
For those who are speaking of it as a religious dilemma, the couple does not have to be married in a church for the marriage to be legal. There are plenty of straight couples who get married in front of a justice of the peace and their marriage is considered legal. Why can't a gay couple get married in the courthouse and have the same legal rights that straight couples do? They have every right to show their love and devotion to each other as straight couples, and if they choose to be married they should be allowed. I know gay couples who have been together for 25-30 years and if one dies, the other has no legal claim on what they have shared and that isn't fair. By the way, my older daughter is a lesbian, but that is not the reason for my feelings on this situation. |

Gay marriage is not about equal rights, it is about acceptance, something that I don't think they will truely ever acheive..for many reasons.

I think as long as there is love between 2 people, they have every right to be legally joined in marriage, the God I believe in makes no defination of right or wrong when true love is concerned!!!

like whats written in scripture---woman was created for man and vise-versa...God did not intend for us to be a bunch of homo's exactly m8, God made Adam & Eve NOT Adam & Steve!! The above comments are examples of bigotry to me. |

![]() ![]() No I don't think so. It could be based solely on their religious beliefs, so that wouldn't make them a bigot. ![]() ![]() |

If as stated that bigotry is an intent or desire to do harm, then how can you be sure that opposition to it, is bigotry when you don't know the persons intent. Do you know for a fact that they hate gays?? do you know if they are passionate about their belief,or is their passion misinterperted as hatrid? Nobody can state anothers true intent, and to call someone a bigiot suggest that they are more knowledgable about that persons intent, then the person themselves.. Opposition doesn't mean bigotry
