I'm sorry for ya Lex it really sucks I wish people were wiser and stronger when it comes to that ---- . Thanks. I do believe that sometimes we have to learn things the "hard way" -- but when you lose your life over it, something is very very wrong.... Yes there is, and I think that is what I am struggling with, is was it worth it in the long run? We know the answer to that question, but we will never get it from him.

My only addiction is ... dare I say... WWE Wrestling & Music. I can't get enough of either at times.

Ive just celebrated my 8th month clean...
I smoked meth for 25 years straight! Everything feels different for me now... im learning how to live all over again. I feel like im starting over at 46 years old! Its hard... but I know im gonna make it! What made me stop?? Me. One day I just woke up and said..."Im f*ckin done", and I havent used since! No meetings, no support groups... just my Mingle family! AND THEY ARE ALWAYS THERE FOR ME!  With that..im blessed! THANKS MINGLE!!

Have you ever been addicted to any kind of drugs? If so what made you stop and save your life? I have never done drugs, but I just lost a good friend of mine to his drug addiction.  Over twenty years ago I lost a friend to drugs. Someone close to me is early in recovery now. |

I had a cousin that was heavy into different drugs and she died from an overdose about 4 years ago (meth) and one of my best friends was doing meth for a while and I could just see it eating her away. It was terrible, but she's not doing it anymore. I smoke pot, and I really don't consider that a drug..because I can fully control myself and mainly because it's natural. Im sorry to hear about your loss .. it's hard to help people when they dont think they have a problem or want to change. |

I just dont understand how you can throw everything away for drugs. I have other friends that are hooked and they have lost everything, it is just so sad. If the wiring in their brain hadn't been changed from drugs, they wouldn't have thrown everything away.

JMO I wouldn't let neither take over my life, but at times it seem's I can't stop those feelings of needing to watch or listen to either of those things.

i tried shrooms, the next few hours scared the crap outa me. dead bodies crawling on the walls, eyeless children with holes in there chest where there heart should be dancing around. when i came to the next day i was nekid and curled in the fetal position in my room.i decided drugs were bad on that day i swore to never try that again.

I work at a drug alcohol treatment center and see this all the time. It is very hard to explain to someone who is not an addict. Think of it like an allergy, say poison ivy once you start scratching you can't stop. |

The one drug that controlled me was nicotine. Some ppl don't look at it as a drug but it is. I quit smoking 3 months ago and I just keep taking it one day at a time with no cigarettes. *****
This is also a hard one to overcome, and I am so glad that you are doing it. Like you said it is one day at a time. My best to you
