In another demonstration of Christian love we see this...umm...what happened to Thou Shall Not Kill???

He gives a religious blessing to murder:

Last night, on Fox News, Sean Hannity insisted that United States needs to "take out" Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Warren said he agreed. Hannity asked, "Am I advocating something dark, evil or something righteous?" Warren responded, "Well, actually, the Bible says that evil cannot be negotiated with. It has to just be stopped.... In fact, that is the legitimate role of government. The Bible says that God puts government on earth to punish evildoers. Not good-doers. Evildoers."

Some insist that Warren is a centrist, moderate type. He is, in fact, a very hard-core Christianist integrated firmly into the GOP. As such, he sees government as a divine institution authorized to punish evil and promote good - as fundamentalist Christians view those things.

Sounds like a good idea to me.If I was the president I would be dropping A-bombs all over that country.

These two are saying assassination is okay.

Doesn't take a super genius to hear their message.

Well I think we all know the outcome if Iran gets a nuclear bomb.No matter what you believe or what country you are in I think you would be pissing your pants as many other unstable third world countries would probably join his cause,in first wiping out Israel and then the United states. The world could go into World war three.I think a assassination is the better option between the two.

As Mccain said....Bomb,bomb,bomb,bomb,bomb,Iran.

So you have no issues with Mr. Warren saying assignation is an acceptableness way of dealing with "evil"?

Gee...many on the extreme right see President Elect Obama as evil.

One doesn't have to look to hard to connect the dots.

WRONG about Warren......your last paragaraph...you are putting words into his mouth.....not right to do.....

Read the Old Testament................you will find God's stand on this issue....I just posted about Sodom and Goomorrah on another thread........you cannot pick and chose from God's Holy Word, the Bible......it is all interwoven.......KING DAVID is a prime story concerning destroying the enemy.......

AND I agree with Sean....... Ahmadinejad sooner or later, needs to be disposed of......Isreal is his prime target, have you forgotten that he said that Israel needs "wiped off the face of the earth" and he will be right on the USA's tail......

Oh, sure.....you can deal with men such as he by sitting down and chatting...having tea and crumpets....men like him are such wonderful conversationalists....wanting peace and freedome...sure, and I am Santa Claus....

If God in his infinite wisdom wishes to smite or to visit destruction and extract a pound or two of flesh as punishment that's fine and even as it should be I suppose.

That's a little different from a man telling another man that God approves of assassination.

Are you admitting God has infinite wisdom?

Absolutely, God has infinite wisdom.

I have never challenged the wisdom or existence of God. Or maybe even multiple Gods and Goddesses.

What I do question and will always question is the man or woman who presumes to speak for God or who points to the bible as the word of God, a book that has been translated and edited by man. Man and his churches who have chosen to selectively included and discard, to interpret what they put forward as being the word of God in ways that are most beneficial to them socially and politically.

Man is a weak and flawed creature. I do not subscribe to nor will I ever follow some charlatan in a religious vestments who tells me he or she knows the will of God.

I am alright with God and feel quite secure in the destination of my immortal soul.

Are you saying that assasination is not ok. In the late 90's, we had foriegn intellignece saying where Bin Laden was and we knew exactly what building he was in. You wouldn't have pounced on the oppurtunity to have taken him out. The argument that often rebuttles this is, "well we didn't know what he was going to do." Maybe we didn't, but we did know what he has done. The bombings in Kenya, the previous bombing of the Wrold Trade Center, and the attack on the U.S.S. Cole. I can understand if you do not want to assasinate a foriegn politian that represents a democratic nation, but to be against assasination as a whole I don't understand. Were you against the assasination attempt against Hitler that failed. I sure hope not

Assassinate him and create another martyr.

The guy isn't even real popular in his own country by the way.

One can never have enough martyrs, on the other side of course.

Some go by the "eye for an eye" statement and forget the New Testament

"Matthew 5:38 Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a
tooth for a tooth: 5:39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil:
but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the
other also."

So, basically, you've got a difference between Egyptian-based Mosaic law and Jesus' character, ie, CHRIST-ianity.
