Topic: Who's your Favorite composer?

Hello all..... I am a pretty big music geek and not scared to admit it. It is a pretty cool gig to get called on a regular basis by people willing to pay you to play music. Here's my question......... Who is your favorite composer and why? Dont be shy! Doesnt have to be a classical composer like Beethoven or anything. Just who is your fav.

I like all types of music so pinning it down like that for me is like asking a child to pick their favorite candy.

True........... Charles Ives made enough money to buy a child. He saw one that he liked...... went up to the family and gave them a big wad of cash for their child.

HANK WILLIAMS (1923-1953) Once Hank came along, America's songwriting and its culture changed. He showed that it was OK to bare your soul in plain English, and sound like you were doing just that, instead of singing and writing with a detached irony. He also was the first country writer that the Pop music industry consistently took notice of, because he was writing better songs in the early 50's than anyone on Tin Pan Alley. (In fact, his contribution to American music is so important, that many detractors have claimed he either bought or co-wrote most of his songs. Humorously, a large number of his handwritten manuscripts have surfaced over the last 15 years or so, showing that he nailed many of his songs on the 1st or 2nd draft.)

Rossini - Gotta love that Italian playfulness. Composed some of the best overtures ever (Barber of Seville, Theiving Magpie, William Tell, to name a few) Beethoven - Strict, stern and very very German lol My fave symphonies are the 9th & 5th (cliche? I don't care lol) Mozart - probably the greatest musical genius the Earth has ever seen or ever will again.

My fave modern composers: Jean Michel Jarre, Trent Reznor, Vangelis & Micheal Cretu. I dig alot of Reznor's work bro but the remix of Broken...you know..."Fixed" wasn't my bag...not sure how much heroin he was wacked out on but...Dude....not good!
