I believe there was one here for a brief time and then he left or stopped posting.

Oh that sucks. I just randomly saw the wiccan thread and that inspired me to post this one. I don't have the patience (attention span) to go though all of that to find interesting people.

Make a new post or bump about once a week and you may grab someone's attention. We may not be Satanists, but your welcome to hang out in the Wiccan thread when you feel like it. We actually have no Wiccans in there. Don't ask, it's a long story.

I just sent Big_Jim an email alerting him to this thread. I believe he is, or at least was, into Satanism.
I'm not sure what type of Satanism he's into but a while back he was posting some information about it in the General Religion forums and it sounded quite reasonable to me. I'm not sure if he's still around, but his profile is still up and running. I sent him an email with a link to this thread, so if he's around he might drop by and say hi. He may be aware of other Satanists on the site too since he's been a member here for quite some time. |

Thanks, James. That's who I was thinking of, but didn't know his name.

Not a Satanist but do have and have read The Satanic Bible and thoroughly enjoyed it. A friend who is a LaVeyan Satanist sent it to me.

I'm happy to chime in on that topic. And as Samael himself, in mortal flesh, I'd be something of an authority as well. Though I'm not a follower of anything, on the contrary, I'm a leader.

Howdy Enki,
No, not everyone is a Satanist, but many of us fall under the Pagan/Heathen/Other description. |

I checked it out once, I have a copy of the Satanic bible, read it, wrote the following song:
# # # Yea, come forth ye demons Beckon up ye beasts Don ye hoods and sickles Let jackals be unleashed Summon up dark angels Times nine ring the bell Messengers of doom go yon With bifid barbs of hell Legions of Damnation To every compass point With flames of burning anger The gods they shall anoint Maiden of the soil Mother of the sea Lady of the heavens Burnt offerings to thee Shemhamforash! Hail Satan! # # # But, after that, I realized that it really is associated with Christianity, which I abhor. Without Christianity, would there even be Satanism? |

But, after that, I realized that it really is associated with Christianity, which I abhor. Without Christianity, would there even be Satanism? That's my feelings too. Satan is a construct of Christianity, so to build a religion around Satan just supports the very idea of Christianity. Why bother? All it does is support the biblical Satan. I personally feel like it was just a really poorly planned out version of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. Originally intended to spite and reject Christianity, whilst unknowlingly actually giving the religion support by supporting the concept of Satan. I posted earlier in this thread that the religion sounded quite 'reasonable' to me. What I meant by that is that their "Commandments and moral values" sounded reasonable. Not the idea of the religion in general. The excerpt of the Satantic Bible that I read sounded wiser and more reasonable than the Holy Bible, and that's all I meant by that. |

And many Satanists I know are really atheists or agnostics in truth but want the ceremony and pomp and circumstance, rather then just being honest with themselves and being atheists/agnostics. One friend is a Satanist because of the shock value, which is sad. |
