I have noticed that the people of jsh/O+U/mingle2
are very cyclical....~~meaning they come and go alot~~
old-timers are replaced and a new bunch steps in...

this brings up alot of topics that have been discussed to death....and all of the same old answers....

The topic may be old to you, but to a "newbie" it is a fresh topic

We used to have a group of REAL old-timers who would moan every time a topic would be brought up by a newbie -- "Oh, that's been posted seventy-two times already" -- not taking into account that new people are signing up all the time, and every "nice guy" thread is somebody's first.

Some of the old crew had developed a truly bizarre entitlement attitude about the site -- they wanted it to stay stagnant, exactly as it had been the day they joined, and THAT is not a good scenario for those of us who want to see the site grow and prosper.

Most of that group ended up leaving after remarking, "This isn't MY JSH anymore."

The point is, it never WAS "their" JSH.

It belongs to all of us.

And that means we need to have a little tolerance when we see a question asked for the 75th time.

Somebody is seeing it asked for the first time.

If fashion can be recycled, then I see no reason subject matter cannot be recycled.

The topic may be old to you, but to a "newbie" it is a fresh topic
so where do you fit in to this???
do you skip the topic, or answer it??
granted a new perspective may be gained.....or
the thread may be diverted off course.
which is usually the case.

Believe me...it's a constant cycle of re-cycle...especially in Sex & Dating. After you've covered all the topics from Anal & Bukakke, all the way to Zoo-ophelia...where else do you have to go but back around again?

Depends on what is being discussed/asked. I try to respond to as many as I possibly can, and I'm glad I have. I have made many a new friend out of "newbies"

how is an old topic posted by a noob different from a thread that is in it 4th or 5th or more turn?

I think what made JSH fun was the interaction of everyone...
the topics werent always fresh or contemplative. but they drew everyone in.

Could be in the way the person has worded the question .... (even if it had been posted before).

a different perspective, or the famous cliques.
people that will respond in a thread because a friend is there.

True, see, you've made an entire thread asking a question that has been asked before. I responded because of your headline.....

Hmm is that why my posts in certain spots get ignored because I am posting in a cliqueish thread or I am just not been here long enough

I normally would respond if posted by a newbie, but if the topic has been posted over and over by a regular - I skip the topic.
