Thats simply a marketing tactic. These bars have their local alcoholics that are in there almost nightly but then on the weekends they generally have to play to a younger, wilder crowd. Thats where the money is.

Myself I'm not to much into the bar scene did that when I was younger. But...I do enjoy once in a while to go to the neighbor hood club that is not far from the house to have a few drinks maybe listen to the Karaoke or shoot a game of pool. I very seldom go but do enjoy some of the conversation as well I don't go there to find anyone just to get out once in a while.
Heck the times I have went normally leave before 11pm before everyone gets drunk.

most of the time I am. the only time I ever seem to be talked to is by a drunk guy. it would be nice to meet someone outside of a bar and have an intelligent, non-alchol related conversation That's one reason I stopped dating anyone who drinks. Talking to a drunk is not exactly my idea of good communication. It's so prevalent, though. Half the threads on here start out talking about dating or cars or llamas or something, and you can bet money that someone will turn it into a drunk thread. Trying to find a non-drinker on a dating site is like trying to find a snowman on the sun. I can't speak for any of the other women on here but I don't drink and not because I can't. I chose not to. |

I'm also one of those people who enjoys going to the little hole-in-the-wall places for darts and pool.
I can, however, tell you that it is a very bad idea to go to said bar on your birthday when your friends know the owner/bartender.
