Yep, women still die, but I bet they aren't getting screened yearly as recommended because it takes a while for it to turn into cancer. Insurance not covering a pap...thats crazy. Isn't that a main part of the yearly exam? If your insurance doesn't cover it just go to your local health department and they will take care of the pap and HPV test at little or no charge to you. It's really simple.
Go ahead and vaccinate your girls. It's your decision after all. I just wanted to give my opinion. I think these vaccines are tainted and I think they do more harm than good. Everyone can do what they want with it. I mean they will...

Seriously, many insurances do not cover yearly paps. Most do every other year. Some are even longer.

Women die from cervical cancer even with cervical screening.
Many insurances won't cover a pap every year.

Education is great. But..all it takes is one mistake. I believe everybody has made that mistake.

And what happens if you marry somebody that has the virus and they don't even know they have it?

According to the U.S. Cancer Statistics: 2004 Incidence and Mortality report, 11,892 women in the U.S. were told that they had cervical cancer in 2004, and 3,850 women died from the disease. It is estimated that more than $2 billion is spent on the treatment of cervical cancer per year in the U.S.

One's body still has the virus even when the body is no longer making the abnormal cell changes. You will always have this virus.

YOU DONT HAVE TO HAVE INSURANCE TO GET A YEARLY SCREENING. The health dept do these screening for FREE for women. I should know, that is where I go for my yearly screenings and also where I went and found out that I had HPV and then went and got a colposcopy done to check to see if I had cervical cancer. THAT my friend is how you help yourself. Not just going to get a shot you have no idea about and how it will effect you. You think by getting this shot, it's going to stop you from getting it? I think NOT. It's not even proven that this shot will prevent it. There has not been enough studies done.

The more marketing behind a drug, the less we likely need it.

We do need to question everything. There can be consequences for every product we use especially those made in a lab. Most aren't tested for long term effects. It's up to us to decide if it's worth the risk. Does the good outweigh the bad? Read all sides and go with your gut. Your gut is usually right.

does anybody realize what mercury does to the brain?
vaccines are pure poison
and why did my sister get HPV when she was a complete virgin?
and why are there tens of thousands of documented cases of women who have tested positive with no sexual activity?
i thought it was an STD?

"The human papilloma virus — is spread through direct skin-to-skin contact with an infected person. Transmission occurs during vaginal, anal, and oral sex. It can also be spread through other kinds of sex play, like body-rubbing. It can also spread from a woman to a fetus during childbirth, but only rarely does it cause harm in newborns.

Avoiding skin-to-skin contact is the most effective way to prevent HPV infection. Using condoms for vaginal and anal intercourse can reduce the risk of transmission.

Oral sex is not as high risk for HPV and vaginal or anal intercourse. But to further reduce the risk during oral sex, you can use a condom to cover the penis or a Glyde damn or cut-open condom to cover the vulva or anus."

Yep, it's a STD.

You do not have to have sex to get the virus.

Do you eat fish sticks or tuna? Know how much mercury is present there? Enough that health departments caution against pregnant women and young children eating it too often.

How much mercury is in the vaccination?

Lynann,

I was searching to find out about that. My post was the best that I could find. It says skin to skin and sex play can cause it too. Is that what you mean by not having sex to get the virus?

Now I have to look into the mercury. laugh

My 12 year old Sister has gotten the gardasil vaccination w/no side effects. I wish I could get the vaccination but am to old now. I know 3 girls I went to school who have been SERIOUSLY effected by HPV. They will never have children. My Aunt also was diagnosed w/HPV years and years ago and has had several operations because of resulting Cancer. I had heard about the risks and high percentage of women w/HPV well before the vaccination was ever publicized.

I had a packet of information about the vaccination somewhere around here. I will try to find it.

I should have used the word intercourse instead of sex.

So, yes, even a female virgin that is a female who has never had intercourse could be exposed to the virus.

We can quibble about whether oral, anal, digital, heavy petting (showing my age using that term) or any other skin to skin contact or activity constitute having sex on another thread.

After all the opportunity to do that is bound to come up. It has been about fifteen minutes since anyone said Bill "I did not have sex with that woman" Clinton on the boards so I expect it to come up any old time.

For those moralist who float that "If you aren't being promiscuous you don't have anything to worry about" line I have to say this. I know more than one person on these boards has either been cheated on or knows of someone who cheats or has cheated. One spouse can be completely faithful and still find themselves thru no fault of their own at risk for STD's. You can be acting faithfully and if you will morally and end up infected.

Ohhh nooo, you brought him up.laugh

My godchild got it when having intercourse with a man that was wearing a condom. The infected area must have been above the condom.
