Why does cutting onion make your eyes water?
Because onions are one of the most toxic substances on the planet. Can ya tell I am allergic to them?? lol |

And of course...the self-serving, ego-boosting, gotta-forgive-me-for-asking-it-anyway question of the night...
Will you miss me while I'm gone or just be taking a thankful breather? Well...this thread is now on version 3 thanks, in large part, to you. Of course I'll miss ya. :-) |

.... i reactivated my account to come here for some justaguyian advice on sumthin but sumthin tells me this is a bad time i'll come back later Never a bad time Jasmine. Ask away. well if you're sure..ok long question... so theres this guy i had a crush on for a while last year, used to be a teacher of one of my classes but isnt anymore. i thought it was a harmless crush at the time and didnt think in a million years that'd he'd so much as notice me. anyhoo so fast forward to last night when after flirting with me for a couple weeks online he outright told me that he'd liked me when i was in his class and spent the 3 months i was there staring into my eyes because he thought i had pretty eyes, and he was surprised i didnt notice. he proceeds to be effusive about how beautiful he thinks i am etc. my question is, this guy is cute, intelligent, 7 years older than i am and holds a masters degree and takes care of an 8 year old kid, so that says he's fairly responsible while i'm a lowly undergraduate student who in my opinion is cute at best, on my good days and i dont think my eyes are THAT beautiful lol.so i'm thinking there's a catch here... and i've told him as much... i've said he's after something and i'm gonna figure it out. i've asked him if he makes a habit of dating his students, and he says no. but then again one would expect him to say that. i'm betting he's an axe murderer or sumthin i've asked advice from my closest friends but they're my age and pretty much think just the way i do. so i thought i'd ask someone like u who is old, a guy and gives fairly respectable advice what do u think? too good to be true or do you think i'm too suspicious. |

I think... 1) You think too much 2) You should stop thinking so much and go with what you heart tells you 3) Wear body armor and a helmet just in case he IS an ax murderer. It really does sound like some of this may be " too good to be true ", but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't at least give it a try. The worst that will happen is that you will get hurt a bit and will proceed with more caution next time. Sometimes, life throws things at us, good or bad, that may seem like a real curveball, but is actually a pitch that is just begging to be knocked out of the park. It sounds to me like this guy already impressed you mentally. My advice is, talk to him more and decide what to do from there. Go into it with no expectations. But let it flow in whatever direction it goes. You never know. He may NOT be an ax murderer. |
