You go through all the effort to email someone then they read it and don't even bother to send you one in return even if it is to say they are not interested. To me a slap in the damn face and down right rude.

Do you get this personally affronted when you get cut off in traffic? When the person in front of you has 25 items in the 10 items or less express lane? There isn't much difference. It's not personal, and it's NOT about you. |

Just because they read it, doesn't necessarily mean they have time to respond. Maybe they had just enough time to read it, but then had to leave for work, school, or whatever. Maybe they had all intentions of writing you back sometime later today. But then again, after reading this thread and seeing how impatient you can be, MAYBE NOT!

But seriously, get used to it, internet dating has that minor downfall that people can choose not to respond in any form. |

The ones that drive me nuts are when they initiate the email, you respond with something charming, amusing and interesting.... then nothing! (and I can see they are still active) But then again.... my idea of 'charming, amusing and interesting' may just be my own..... |

But keep in mind, most of these people have profiles along the lines of "I don't know what to write here." Composing an actual e-mail with substance and content might be a bit like climbing Mt. Everest for them. |
