i STRONGLY BELEIVE IN THIS, I THINK THAT IF THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE MARRIED OTHER CULTURES IT WOULD EVENTUALLY DECREASE OR BLURR THE LINES THAT SEPERATE US AS RACES AT THE EARLIEST LEVELS OF COMPREHENSION - AS CHILDREN BEING TAUGHT THAT THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN US WHAT SO EVER.

Good attitude, Tribo. In eighth grade my Earth Science teacher told us that he thought it was a good idea, too. He said everyone would be a nice shade of brown. When I joined the Army National Guard where that teacher did his weekends my drill sergeant told us that we all were green.

thnx RT, i've dated alot of diff. races and i find outside of cutural differeences people at their core all all the same - as to wishes and desires etc.. i think its ashame that color or features would turn anyone off as to accepting all mankindf as being equally the same .

absolutely agreed, my good friend.
but what are races, but labels.
the soul of an individual does not have race, so why do we teach our kids to see the external accidents, and not the substance of the individual.
If we do so we would not need interacial marriages because the hearts of the children won't be corrupted by the crap of the adults who teach them to differentiate people by race.
whomever makes less another person just and only for his/her race, it's not another thing than a dog to me.

Living in the area that I do and attending the college that I do, you get to know people from all over the world. With that I have learned that at basic levels there isn't much difference between people. Their life stories are different, but if you go and talk to someone from the deep south, northeast coast and southwest coast isn't their stories going to be different and similar.

I had a movie nite date the other night with a wonderful man that is from turkey. I have dated different people from all over and got to know people from different places in the world. Personally at this point in my life I would rather date a muslim man, then I would a christian b/c most of the muslim man are exteremely respectful of women. If you keep ourselves isolated to what we only know, then we will be limited in our prespectives, knowledge and even intelligence levels. It is a huge world out there and there are so many ways to live life. Why not open yourself up to living a different way? Trying new foods? Do new things?

Yes, not everyone can afford to travel the world, but when you are somewhere and you see someone that isn't from your neck of the woods, talk with them, learn from them. Open yourself up to learning.

just my opinion  tanya

your correct Miguel, i was just saying that when children do see their own parents being married and loving each other with respect and devotion it is to me the best roll model a child could have, just telling them is one thing but to me actions speak louder than words - if the societies all agree with us but do nothing to show that it's true - what message does that send compared to them seeing it daily in their own lives and their friends lives?

hi waving tribo

hi my lady, good for you!!

I have not travelled the world but i have lived in areas that a multitude of racial diversity exist such as Miami and southern florida, where you see everyone. it's that kind of diversity that opens you up [if your closed to begin with] to how un-different we really all are at our core. "teach the children well" - they are mans only hope!!

PS: hope your feeling much better my lady - flowerforyou

Tribo- I absolutly agree with you. I think the more and more you see inter-racial marriages, the more accepted and "normal" it will become. Therefore people won't be staring and making their own opinions about it. I mean think of how far it has come already. Say just back 40 years to 1968. It was unheard of. And those that did it we shunned by society.

exposure is the best way to reduce any -ism.

my son is exposured to all aspects of life. I of course limit for age appropriateness, however some my agrue that he is exposed to more than he should be. However, I keep lines of communication open with him and he knows that he can ask his mom any question... from why someone is in a wheelchair, why that homeless person is sleeping in the race or is that person a boy or a girl? (that was waiting in line to vote lol)

The world would be a much better place (in my opinion) if we just didn't limit ourselves or others.

yeh i know i lived thru that time - i also had a black girfriend from england, that i eventually married - so i know exactly what you mean. i have never been racial though. I grew up in an all white town, maybe thats why - everyone that ever treated me bad when i was young were white, so if i had any prejudices at all when young- it would have been of my own race not others.

I do however have prejudice for individuals in my life on a one to one situation, but it has nothing to do with race. i keep working on that.
