I think she doing an OK job, I am a registered Republican and I voted for her last time. A lot of the stuff she inherited from the previous Gov. She is doing an " ok job " by doing absolutely nothing to stop the slide that this state has been in for the last decade or so??? Well before she took over as Govenor, continued policies and practices of the Big 3 automakers have more to do with their own demise, rather than what the Governor does. Everyone thinks propping up the auto industry is going to save Michigan, and it can't. The Big 3 are almost dead, if they want to survive they need to completly re-invent themselves, not wait for the government to do something to make it better. New industry and manufacturing needs to come to MI. not trying to save a dead/dying auto industry. Is it true that they are going to be combining two car plants? |

Its not the government's duty or mandate to find jobs, or replace jobs. Enact or repeal legislation that promotes a better envionment for business, fine, I can agree with that.

Its not the government's duty or mandate to find jobs, or replace jobs. That is where you and I will differ in opinion. To me...it IS her job to go talk to companies and try to lure them here. To do anything less is akin to Nero watching Rome burn. Enact or repeal legislation that promotes a better envionment for business, fine, I can agree with that.
But the environment for business hasn't gotten any better. Just look at the job loss/job creation statistics. |

It's the most powerful pen in the entire state. That pen has the power to veto any bill that comes across her desk that isn't friendly to new businesses. That pen has the power to make the legislature go back and get together a better idea. That's close enough to a " magic wand " for those who choose to use it's power. |

* ahem * Not to break up the little party here...but Obama's religion ( I could personally give a sh*t less if he's Muslim, Buddhist, or a member of Charlie Manson's extended " family " ) isn't the issue here. I would like someone to take a look at one of his ( reported ) choices for a cabinet position, and tell me why we shouldn't be leery of his future choices if he does choose the current Governor of Michigan. *ahem* I wasn't commenting on someone else's reply. ...why would it be reported that he is actually considering giving Jennifer Granholm a cabinet appointment? She has not done a whole lot of anything to keep Michigan from being run into the ground? What makes him think she would be able to do much better for an entire country?? I just hope Obama gives the white people a few more rights now considering he is African American 
Let me add to that:...Not just White's...But EQUAL rights to all races
