If you say so. Carry on. Well I mean you are trying to submit that an African American can not refer to themselves correctly in that manner if they have never been a citizen of an African nation. That totally ignores the entire concept of ethnic ancestry. Do you not understand this? |

I won't date a person who isn't actually a person and actually is a toaster oven. See the problem. If you really TRULY loved them, it shouldn't matter that they are a toaster oven. On the other hand, if you knew they were a toaster oven when you met then, you probably wouldn't have begun to date them in the first place. |

Just skip it. You're looking at fullscreen when you should be looking at widescreen. You want other people to accept your viewpoint, but you don't seem open to hearing others. |

That totally ignores the entire concept of ethnic ancestry. Do you not understand this? And again, you contradict yourself. If a person was not born, lived in, or was a citizen of an African nation, regardless of their heritage, how can they possibly entitle themselves to play the heritage card and expect everyone to adhere to that demand? You said yourself that even though you're of Italian descent, you don't call yourself an Italian American. |

Im not certain where I have ever contradicted myself. If you can find that please utilize the quote feature. They can refer to themselves as an African American if they so choose because in THIS particular case, the terminology that is being utilized is NOT referring to where the person physically resides but instead their ethnic heredity. Who is asking that everyone "adhere to that demand."? If someone wants to define themselves as African American based on their ethnic background, there is nothing incorrect about that title. It is you who are arguing otherwise on some unfounded non-nonsensical premise. You can attempt to explain it to me if you want but so far all you have stated repeatedly is the assertion that unless they have RESIDED in an African nation, they can not refer to themselves as African American according to you. Wrong. Who is demanding that we accept a premise here exactly? I do not refer to myself as an Italian American because I do not see the reason to. I go by my name. That is my personal choice. Just as you have a choice. And just as any African American or a Hispanic American or an Italian American would have that choice. |

And also just as I have the choice to NOT refer to them as African Americans. You're not the only person who's entitled to an opinion.

And also just as I have the choice to NOT refer to them as African Americans. You're not the only person who's entitled to an opinion. I NEVER said you were not entitled to an opinion. Stop whining. I said I disagreed with your opinion and clearly demonstrated why it is incorrect. Stop being so defensive. Gosh. ![]() |

If you don't want to refer to people as African Americans, don't! If someone else does, let them! |

Quote where I actually contradicted myself at ANY point in the debate and also show me where I am incorrect and your logic is somehow superior. Please use examples as I did. You cant just say Im right and you are wrong, unless of course you are 8 years old and using your parents' computer. ![]() ![]() |

I can't date someone who:
Has a foot fetish (I hate feet) Has kids they don't take care of Won't get a job (from the day they meet me they have 2 weeks to get a job unless they're injured or independently wealthy...lol) Doesn't like children or animals Doesn't like Ellen DeGeneres, I think she's amazing and anyone who can't find her incredibly hilarious has no sense of humor. |

Clever and funny. You can keep it in the act, but it's old. You might want to try a new schtick.
I told you a long time ago to skip it, because you clearly were not getting where I was coming from. In typical fashion, you couldn't let it go at that point. |

In typical fashion, you couldn't let it go at that point. Oh stop it. You are taking this much too personally. I told you I understand what you are attempting to convey, yet I dont agree with it. You dont have to agree with my point of view either however, common courtesy would dictate that you at least hear me out. I tried to utilize examples to clearly explain to you what I perceive as a distinction between title designations. You seem to feel that the term "African American" is incorrect because it should only apply to citizenship and country of origin. I am clearly stating that no, it is not referring to that at all but actually is a designation of ethnic identity. Thats the end of it. Let it go. Peace my immigrant brother. ![]() |
