Today as I went through the buffet line as I usually do I saw April the waitress who used to work where I do. If my usual table is full she asks me where I want to sit. It is usually awkward how we hug but we always have. She has knew me for a long time and when she went to work for the restaurant because she needed to make more money at first she wouldn't let me pay for my food but would pay my bill out of her tip money. She would try to get my bill and even apologize if another waitress or the owner got there before she did. This morning was especially awkward because she always told me that she was married but this morning after we hugged she introduced me to her husband and we shook hands.

What was weird for me is that he just shook my hand and smile. I guess what was weird was that I had nothing to feel guilty for but that the guilt was just imagined.

We are just friends and because she is married it couldn't be any more than that but I think I like her more than she likes me.

There is nothing wrong with that situation. Sounds like you liked her as more than a friend and felt guilty meeting her husband.Take it for what it is and that you have a really nice friend who happens to Value her marriage.
