Elvis died; Jim Jones mass suicide; Kent State; Watergate; Israeli athletes killed at the olympics...some bad stuff, man. But, at least Farrah Fawcett was there, to sort of set the stage for Gypsy41. and don't forget Jim Morrison one of my favorites He died in back in 1971 Jim, Jimi and Janis.... they were all 27 years old when they died ... Wasn't he the lead singer for the "doors"? Comeon baby, light my fire!!!! |

candy cigs. I can still taste those.....yummy You know I actually bought some of those at a tobacco shop, just for the novelty!!! Those of us Americans should remember the BiCentenial. Nixon, Vietnam on TV, watching Walter Cronkite with Grandpa, Bell Bottoms, platform shoes, wide collars and ties in ugly greens and browns, leisure suits. Carton of smokes were under $7 (Aunt Corinne actually brought them home by the case for Uncle Mac) You could go to town, fill the car with gas, get a cheeseburger, watch a movie (including popcorn and coke) and spend less than $10. However if you lived in a big city, you might have to wait in line for that gas |

Still do and even have some of their original albums. They got wet in this last hurricane flood, but I'm gonna try to save them. |

Billy Jack movies. LOL....I always wanted to take this foot.....and hit someone on that side of their face!!!! He could do no wrong, you know. Oh, yeah, Jaws came out then too. I saw that movie when it came out. That's when I was a lifeguard and was waterskiing every evening. We were at Canyon Lake in Texas. (Fresh water, man made lake now) I finished my turn on the skis and had let go of the rope and was treading water while the boat and others went to retrieve the other ski. There I am...all alone...and I start hearing this music from Jaws!!! Things that run around in your head, huh!!! I couldn't wait to get back in the boat!!! |
