When you are old and grey, sitting in that rocking chair on the front porch gazing out at the sun setting and holding the hand of the equally old and grey man rocking next to u, reminiscing about the long life you've enjoyed and laughed together....

you really long desperately for a fine piece of ass to look at... ohwell

I think online it's definately looks first. But in real 'normal' life I think often people start as friends, where looks aren't really important, and then can fall in love with the personality over time.

Im not sure i agree with that actually. Online all there is, is communication. Sure you have pictures to look at as well, but apart from that all you can really do is talk. If it was all down to looks online romances wouldnt go anywhere.

Looks may get you in the door, but (bad) personality is what will get you tossed out....

Not to mention the number of people who post pictures that are not them, or are of them years ago....

You can't count mingle. Mingle is it's own anomaly. It's a date site. It's a social site. Nobody really knows what the heck it is.

Yes there are about 5 trillion porno sites, and then there is Mingle. Nothing else though.

There is a site with a guy feeding lime jello to an ostrich. It's pretty good.

Looks can be taken from anyone in the blink of an eye -- so many things can happen in life to change the outward appearance of anyone...

So as much as 'attraction' is important, what's inside is FAR more important than what you see.

Because that can not be taken away.

Seriously though Dan (all those other post were crap really) are you saying that if you weren't physically attracted to pink in the first place you would have allowed yourself to be open to falling for her? (I am assuming you 'met' her online, which may not be the case)

I'm just saying that online I think people generally sort by looks, then get to know them. But if they're not initially attracted to them online they don't take it any further.

We did meet eachother online but we were only ever friends until we did actually meet in person, and the rest happened from there.

I think people 'sort' by looks online and in real life, and they are important in both. Most people want someone they are attracted to.

I agree that looks are a factor, just not that its more of a factor online, because people do have the opportunity to let other parts of themselves shine through online. Take myself for example, online i can make people laugh, in real life i am not nearly as good at it, and it has always been my humour online that has been what has gotten me attention from the opposite sex.
