I am sick of this thing aswell and I have been an Obama supporter since day 1 when he announced his intentions to run in 2007.

I think the real reason John McCain lost is because 1. He did not appeal to young voters and 2. Sarah Palin turned off MANY of his older voters that saw her as empty headed and incapable of leading.

So it would be nice to move on to other topics and forget the division that we have all seen these past months.

thank you sooo much...it is time to move on and come together as a nation do what Americans do...UNITE...not DIVIDE...geeeessshhhh enough already...

This is a Civil discussion...if you can't handle it, please say goodbye !

I thought you were leaving...

Honestly....you must admit...there was nothing about him that we had not seen before.

He had no fresh idea's...he's been in Washington for ever.....but has done nothing impressive, so why would anyone vote for him.

He had Condoleeza Rice, served to him on a platter to be his Vice-President, but instead he chose Sarah Palin...which clearly was a bad decision.

The issue of race was constantly brought up...and in the end, most people that voted for McCain were white....however more whites voted for Obama then McCain....why ?

Is it possible that McCain was really that bad... or they really wanted a change ?

I think you pose the question in a strange way. More whites voted for obama because they believed in him more than McCain. They did that in spite of race. This election was not about the problem of racism. It was about going beyond race. It was seeing that the country in the hands of the current administration was going down fast and the country didnt want anything to do with them or anything like them

McCain. I beleive he is a great man with exceptional sense of honor. That said he lost because his honor in the last 7 years has been bound to a sinking ship that is the 43rd President. He would have helped himself by airing out all the mistakes of the President and how he, McCain, is a real conservative and not Bush.

McCain's Honor would not let him bash the leader of his own party and to that i give him credit, but it hurt him beyond measure.

McCain's other mis-step is Sarah Palin... dead weight. In July polls showed that 13% of the country thought the VP pick mattered. As of last week that number jumped to 30% and something like 60% were saying Palin didnt have what it takes.

Lastly when McCain said "the fundamentals of the economy are strong" and then days later the bottom dropped out of Wall st.... well

You know what funny about all the threads about this. It's don't mater who is president or not. Not one has changed nothing to make this country get out of debt and we will be paying for it for the rest of our lives. Presidents are nothing but puppests doing what there told and say they will change thing s and this is why i should be the president. BS nothing has change since day one and if it has. Funy how other people can complain about it and it will be changed and on top of all this BS about politics and what have ya. How long do you think it will be before he is shot! Ill give it a year the most.

a lot of things have changed since "day one". sounds like your a pessimist of biblical proportions.

Things change slowly in America by design. The founders intentionally made it difficult for rapid change to safegaurd the union.

it soulds to me you would prefer a dictatorship so things change at the whim of the leader.

the one thing you and i share is a concern that Obama will be assassinated. let us not forget the screams of "kill him" at the Palin rallies. That said i am optomistic that we are beyond the hatred that would cause such a thing... but another thing to concider is that here in los Angeles there was a riot because police beat Rodney King and got away with it... they dont even know Rodney King and they burned the city.

Imagine what would happen if Obama is shot.

i pray no one is so foolish

Just the way he said it....I seems like he knows something that we don't.

Or at least he's praying that it happens...so people are so obvious !

The comment made by the guy about Obama being shot within a year.

It's scary that someone would say that so politely.

Just a point to toss out for discussion....not that I even remotely agree....I have a lady friend who lives in a mostly white neighborhood near Philadelphia who voted for obama, but her reason spooked me. She says she voted for Obama out of fear...fear that if he lost the "blacks would riot and burn my neighborhood down." Makes me wonder how many others had the same fear when they went to vote. A misguided fear, I am certain, but, how many whites had that fear? Any guesses?

No....your friend sounds like a racist !

Whites voted because they had a choice and picked who they thought was best for the job.

You really make whites sound stupid...which we know better !
