most people i know get bogged down in the everyday job of surviving and making ends meet.Though I am voting for Obama I don't expect my life to change one bit.
h and I don't think society is any worse then it ever was,we just have better communications now.

sure you believe that...it's your right...I know what I saw and sorry if you don't like.....but it was the clincher for me.

I literally did......but understand also...I was just at the rally with him and oprah...and I was gearing toward obama....then saw this.....It made me realize two things...this man so has an agenda...And Oprah is that antichrist....

laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh

Whatever. The link I posted shows Obama participating in numerous pledges hand on heart and even saying the words.

Some people will use anything as an excuse. It's a shame.

His agenda is to make things better. Not make you puke all over yourself. Geez.

My 2 cents.....I would say that a lot are saying to themselves, "voting for the lesser of two evils." Now most
of the time I hear this from people who are not voting at all. They feel that both suck, so why bother....H E L L O

If you don't vote at all imo you have no say in anything. Nothing is ever going to change in this country...and no better candidates will come to the forefront if all of America has the attitude that all the candidates suck.

I myself am voting for McCain and Palin and for a few good reasons. I feel McCain has done a lot just in his life. Heck just to be a POW and keep it together is good enough for me. But most important is his true true love of this country. Now this might be lame to some but unto this point I had not decided. when Obama stood there with his hands to his sides and didn't recite the pledge.....That was horrific to me. You are representing the UNITES STATES OF AMERICA....and in my mind you do not have this country's best interest at heart.

He has his own agenda........

Now also Palin she is a woman that takes no crap from no one...she will come against the big wig for what she knows and feels is right for her state...I have oodles of respect for both of these candidates and they will get my vote.

He was listening to someone singing the National Anthem and didn't have his hand on his heart - one time.

Surprisingly, quite a few people don't do that.

Title 36 or the U.S. Code, which states the following:

During a rendition of the national anthem, when the flag is displayed (A) all present except those in uniform should stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart; (B) men not in uniform should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold the headdress at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart.

So again you decide......But for me in spoke in volumes. And this is something he does not just once...sometimes he will put his hand over heart sometimes he wont. To me it should always be done.

"He refused to not only put his hand on his heart during the pledge of allegiance, but refused to say the pledge...how in the hell can a man like this expect to be our next Commander-in-Chief?

I don't know about you, but I certainly would never hold someone to that sort of standard, the 'be all end all', in a presidential election, for something I perceived he had done that was so subjective.

You really must believe people ARE what they do, or not do, and regardless of the severity of that action or inaction, to feel that way.

I believe people are not what they do. I believe that people do things of which they are not proud. I believe people err. I believe good people do bad things. I believe honorable people slip. I believe people do things that others perceive as negative without realizing it.

What I DO NOT believe is that youtube is a reliable source. I do not believe the media in general is a reliable source. I do not believe that a person can do something, or be perceived to do something, and deserve judgment.

I did not say the Pledge in high school, or stand up for it. I am American. Does that make me a bad, evil person, worthy of you turning your back on me too?

I truly believe McCain is going to somehow pull it off...not because he is the best person to become the next President of our Country...but because - no matter what people say or hype up about Obama - when they're alone in their voting booth they will realize taking a chance on Obama is not worth the risk.

There are WAY too many unanswered questions and "What if's" about Obama to have him be the leader of this Country...because, seriously... should we find out the answer to some of those questions afterwards, it could be too late...

Plus, yes, I feel his 'spell' has worn off on many... it's been very interesting to see brainwashing at it's best... and quite scary.

I personally respect Joe Lieberman and his way of thinking quite a bit....- how many in Washington can stand up for what they believe even when most will disagree? Not many... that takes strength, and that's admirable.

and, oh yea..., why would someone not say the Pledge of Allegiance or put their hand over their heart during the National Anthem?
It's disrespects all those who fought and died to give us the freedoms we have.... -- Yes, it's each persons "right" to do as they wish, but that doesn't make it any less "wrong".

Have a good day.

It made me very, very sad.

nothing I wrote should make anyone 'sad'...

It's ridiculous to say let's give Obama the chance to become our President because that will show others to have "Hope" and not give up on themeselves....

First of all if a person is looking for politics to give them hope, that in itself is what is sad -that comes from within, nothing outside of your own self should control how you feel, dream, hope for who you are and what you want out of your life.

Too many make excuses and complain about every little thing in life instead of doing whatever it takes to make their own happiness in this world.

Obama - McCain, whichever man becomes the next President, I will continue to take care of myself and my responsibilities, because it's the right thing to do. Others will complain and place blame on a President because they have no control of their own life. That's pathetic....and that is what to feel sad about.

That was entertaining. Even moreso because you obviously did not at all understand what I was saying. laugh

I think it's an American tradition just like Applie Pie and Hot Dogs...And yes I think it is rude to not show your patriotic side....It's a respect issue.

And whether the it's reliable or not....a picture speaks a thousand words....and even if only one time....It to me is a slap in the face of America.

Even if just an oversight....cmon it's like brushing your teeth you do it without thinking about it...And he does it over and over....This is a man that has the highest office in the land....you don't overlook PERIOD.

And yes it makes me sad that you would not say the pledge....see this for me is where this country is going to ****. You take out what this country was founded on....at least for me...and that is speaking volumes of what is really happening to this country. Don't give a ****......and have enough that don't...and then don't expect it to be run with any amount of care either.....sorry but this is a huge deal to me.

Does this mean that I don't adore you.....no but it nonetheless makes me sad.

It's not a pedestal...please...

There is nothing wrong, at all, with being confident and strong in who you are as a person. My life has had MANY challenges in it, just as most do. I am proud of how I've faced them though, why is that wrong?

Since you say I did not understand, at all, what you were saying -- please explain it so I will.

I do say the Pledge now, but didn't then.

My point was that we are not what we do or don't do in a myriad of ways. Our actions do not always reflect our feelings or intentions.

If someone doesn't agree or like what you have to say, to say what you just did.

that is definitely the Obama way of thinking...

Gee, if not putting your hand over your heart or removing your hat during the national anthem makes you un-American or assigns some dangerous political motives to a person I can point to thousands of people every Sunday who are un-American.

Let's turn the cameras onto the crowd next Sunday at the next NFL game and identify those traitors and investigate all their motives.

Come to think of it why don't we just burn them all at the stake! After all shouldn't they be keeping the Sabbath? What are people doing attending football games on the lords day?

Clearly bunches of them are un-American, un-Godly and must be harboring sinister political agendas!!

--------

By the way, I think you are right on on this country full of people who expect immediate gratification. Most are lazy, unmotivated, self-centered and couldn't tell you why it matters who the president is, how legislation is made or find almost anything on the map.

I went out with a guy once who said he was republican, had never voted, thought Reagan was the best president ever but could not identify one reason, and then admitted he did not know what the electoral process was or how it worked. laugh laugh

I'm not exaggerating at all. That was our last date, by the by.
