I can fix computers. I just can't fix THIS computer!

Tiger Direct in Orland even told me they don't carry any Dell parts....

sigh. almost every single photo that i have on my profile is of me and my boyfriend.

there's a brief paragraph, or is it two, of how i'm involved in a happy relationship, and explains why we are both still members of this site.

yet i still get emails from men who say stuff like 'i'm very interested in a relationship and i think we can make this work' or 'your profile says so much about you and we have lots in common', 'i'd like to add you to my yahoo, here's my address'. this must have been a form letter that was generated automatically without his even looking at the profile. i mean, for gosh's sakes i'm GREEN!!!

i wonder if it is because many (most?) men are attracted first to women in a physical way and assume that women are the same? that a mere photo will be enough to entice and interest them?

i think that's what i'm gonna do today - perv some male profiles and see if they are just as empty, and clone-ish, as the girls and report back with my findings.

Please do -- I'd be interested in the results!

I can safely say that the vast majority of local women (within 250 miles) all appear to be using the same profile -- I swear it was copied word-for-word from "Dating Site Profiles For Dummies"....

With 100 billion laid back and easy-going people in the world, how does anything ever get done....??

Close enough!

I have to give you points for "Originality of Approach," too!

My favorite was the girl who knocked on my door one day and said "I knew you were an artist the first time I saw you." Only I had never seen her before at all. But, hey, she got in the door with it.

Well I asked him if he read my profile and did he realize I wasn't a slut and why would I want to talk to a stupid little boy. I don't think he was too happy about that. And I got an equally stupid response from him. ohwell laugh

Tanya -- You know what I always tell people?

The world is full of idiots, and they're either on dating sites or driving the car in front of me.

You nailed it with "stupid little boy." Maybe one day he'll grow up and learn how to talk to people.

But I wouldn't count on it....!

i looked at ten today. all the men wanted someone with a sense of humour, someone who was honest, and someone who enjoyed life and liked to have fun. one profile had nothing at all written, while one just wanted friends. nothing else apparently (the only two words on the profile)

one went into a little bit more detail - he wanted someone who was both articulate, and someone who had a gentle 'sole' laugh

this one made me laugh too: under interests, he wrote: you tell me. i guess some men really do want to be told what to do huh? i think i might write and tell him that my interests are going shopping on his credit card laugh

OK, it's official -- the men's profiles are just as lame, if not moreso, than the women's!

Might be time for a remedial reading class....

haha, i should have quit then, but i decided to read a few more

there were a few that said 'hi' under interests. maybe that's code for smoking dope?

a lot of them were 'just checking things out'

one guy actually had 'zzzzzz' as his profile information. gee, if he's bored of himself, imagine what he'd do to a date?

lex, you just might be the only guy on the site that has a serious profile bigsmile

Yeah, mine actually took more than 11 seconds to write!

I just don't get it. What do people think a profile is FOR, anyway? To announce to the world, "Hey, I'm boring and stupid"....? Don't we see enough of that in our regular daily lives....?

While I think forum posts are far more revealing, in the long term (because they're less static and more real-time), I think a profile can say a lot about a person. And what they usually say is "Don't waste your time, I'm an idiot."
