Topic: When did youtube become....

A reliable news source of any kind? Don't people understand that youtube or utube, however it is spelled, is a personally produced and ALTERED version of what people want to express? The few things I have seen from there are funny sometimes and entertaining sometimes and shocking and disgusting sometimes but at no point period should it be considered a reliable news source. Can someone tell me why some people think it is verifiable fact?

I view the real news channels with some skepticism, always looking for a bias but at least they are suppose to be real news, held to some kind of standard. Utube is peoples personal playthings they put up. Not that the artistic expression should be downplayed, it is a form of art but not factual news. At least in my opinion.

Youtube isn't any worse than Fox News of CNN IMO I think that CNN tries harder than other TV stations. What do you think is more unbiased?

Youtube is just like anything else, a Newspaper, the T.V., whatever, you have to view it all with skepticism and do your own homework before your can produce something as verifiable fact.

The Alex Jones show, he only focuses on corruption and rarely messes with fluff. Just recently he co-hosted a pro-liberty event with Willie Nelson and Jesse Ventura.

Can someone tell me why some people think it is verifiable fact? it depends on the clip some are good and reliable and some are conjured up comedy routines (per say) kinda like news networks gotta analyze the out put and come to your own decisions

Their mission is to sell advertising. They sell a certain demographic to the advertisers and then frame all their news to keep that demographic watching. They tell you what you want to hear (unless you're not of that demographic)

The BBC is about as unbiased as you can get i think, but then you cant completely trust any of the large studios.

They tell you what you want to hear (unless you're not of that demographic) Then what do you consider better? I've been going with CNN on TV and NPR on the radio.
