If you meet someone online and really like the person and it come time
to meet them. What do you think would be good rules to meet the person
and still be safe in case they turn out to not be who you thought they
where.

I would meet them in a public setting...Then that way, if they turn out
to be someone they are not...You can excuse yourself to go to the
washroom, and RUN!!!!!!!

My dear, I would meet them in an open, public, place, with a friend or
two quite close by .. JUST IN CASE ... IF I was a woman ... but as I am
a HE, same rules except the friend part.....good luck Fine...

Learn well from recent history...go in with an exit strategy!

I've been through enough of these disasters to know a few things -- meet
in a public place, not at anybody's house. Someplace where there are
some other people nearby -- a mall, maybe, or McDonald's -- not in a
park where it could be more isolated.

And, if I had it to do over again, I would bring a friend. And I'd
bring my cell phone.

And a polygraph machine, if I had one....and maybe a hockey stick....

Always in an open place,, lots of people around,, I would look more to
an afternoon time,, Always let someone know who your with and where your
meeting, bring the cell phone,,,

someone getting drunk and after about and hour ya have had enough
anyway. Then you can decide if ya want to go for date number
2 lol

ah this is my experience...from just say hi. after 2 emails someone was
really cared about me. he wanted my email address so i gave it to him,
and then told him he was too young for me, and i would send him on to my
friends. he deactivated. then, i got emails from married men, and so i
told them i would pass them on to my friends. i do not know what they
are doing. then, i got emails from guys who were looking for love, but
it turned out to be sex, and so on.
my question is what the hell is going on with this site? anyone going
to meet someone for the first time? have them fax you a copy of their
driver's license, and do a background check.

Every email that I have received has been positive, and with no stalkers
or forceful mean people. There are alot of people here that I would like
to meet and I have been here, maybe a month. people go on and on about
the wonderful members here and I agree. I am beginning to think that I
am the meanest person here..lolol I can't say that I have met or have
plans to meet anyone yettttttt, but there are distinct possibilities.
That is more than I can say for some other sites!

like everyone else.. PUBLIC setting.. WITH (as lex so appropriatly
stated) and eXit strategy... but if given enough time to chat, talk AND
get to know one another.. I'm doubtful I'd have too many qualms about
meeting them.. but ALWAYS in a public scenario

I met my ex off the interent he lived 2 hours away from me, and i went
there to meet him. Well my mom is very very paraniod so she made me take
a metal nail file in my purse in case he tried to hurt me lol. it
sounds crazy but it did make me feel better you dont know who are the
crazy ones out there now a days. and we met at pizza hut my cousin owns
it.So he was there to in case i needed help

well, if it's a long distance thing, I would go to them, so that they
don't know where I live haha

What I would do to you tall wouldnt be for the public eyes LOL

Go alone and meet in a parking garage. Make sure there are no cameras
and that she's not followed...
