Looks like I'm in the minority here, but I actually do watch UFC. I used to love to watch boxing, too, all the greats like Ali, Foreman, etc. I went to an MMA competition in Omaha several years ago, and I thought that the coaches and the contestants, some of them quite young, seemed to be very respectful of each other, and amazing talents. I guess, just like I thought about boxing, if they fight fair and that's the sport they choose, that's their decision. I think the gladiators purpose was to kill their opponent, wasn't it? For the most part, I limit my UFC mainly to Wednesday nights between the 2 teams in the house, and with the exception of a few each year, they seem like pretty respectful guys, just trying to be the best in their sport. JMHO

I am in disagreement, my son takes martial arts. I do not believe his instructor is messing with his head. Just my view...

maybe parents should be banned

and friends

and television and movies

the list goes on and on

if you want to ban things that influence others

you need to punish those that are doin the evil

not remove the sport (or whatever)

and this is hard to do properly

because who is to say what is evil

Go ahead and ask Daina white if its about fighting, of course its about fighting and yeah its violent, so is football as well as many other international sports, yet the ufc has not had nearly the severity of injury's that many other sports have. I specifically reference the ufc because i think they have the best rule set. MMA is a legitimate combat sport and in my opinion is the only true sport in witch martial arts are put to proper use.

I have the freedom to see two guys beat the crap out of each other if they choose to do so, and god help the man that tries to take that freedom away.

broken bones, cuts, the fighters get hurt more training then in a fight. MMA is a hell of a lot safer then bull rideing, whys that not in there? its proven safer then boxing due to the stopage before multiple concusions, MMA will never be banned, gov would lose to much tax on it now. haha but for real WAR MMA its the sh1t "i do mma as well"

~ Bull Fighting ~ ...that's one good thing the U.S doesn't do...that I know of anyway! I can't believe it is considered "a sport" at all! Its such a cruel act, like dog races, dog fighting etc. I don't even like horse races. Animal's don't want to "play sports"! Men stick to "ball games... please!

If 2 people want to fight in a controlled environment, let them. It seems 'controlled environment" is what has you going. There are many rules in Ultimate Fighting that do not allow for unfair attacks. If you really watched it instead of being so politically correct, you might know what really happens in this sport.
And, People can get hurt tripping over their own 2 feet should we ban walking? I am sure statistics show more injuries and deaths from clumsy people than they do from Ultimate Fighting.

Boxing is not nearly as bad as MMA. A lot of the fighting techniques this guy mentioned above is taught in the military and at the police academy. These fighting tactics are specially taught for incapacitating others to be temporarily helpless, partially disabled, or dead depending on the amount of force used.

I agree the sport should be banned.

and this is where the control comes in. you dont use all your power to take someone to another level, you do what you have to to win, but dont take it to an extreme. by the way,, how many mma fighters have died in or due to injuries recieved in the ring??? i havent heard of any. but i know for a fact theres quite a few in boxing. hmmmm,,, which would be more brutal? hitting someone in the head til they die of brain trauma, or having someone tap, get tko, or knocked out and the fights stopped right then.

Underground fighting is MUCH safer than organized fights, amirite?
