abra -

It's precisely the bigoted judgmental mentalities like yours that justify the poem that I just wrote.

Guilt trip city.

??? - bigotry does not justify bigotry, it just makes both look bad.

Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn.

At least I'm a bigot in my own right and don't hide behind the skirt of a deity.

It's true that I'm fed up with impious holy rollers.

From my point of view there is nothing more dispicable than being a bigot in the name of God.

It's truly that principle that disgusts me. sick

If a person wants to be a bigot at least let them own up to the fact that it's their own choice. Pretending that they are being righteous about it is the haughtiness that makes it so sick.

Am I bigoted against impious hateful religious fanatics?

You betcha! drinker

whoa!!! now you've really gone and done it!!!!

i will not put up with your use of rett butlers line in a discussion on bigotry!!!

Hell is every time I turn on my radio or TV and have to witness all these NO-TALENT ****S making all the money and getting all the recognition that quality teachers, inventors, musicians and artists and people that have generally BENIFITTED society, should be getting.....

1996:

HEAVEN..

It was very cold outside and the snow had started to fall. I had soot on my hands from getting the log started in my little wood stove that barely heated the large room where my grandmother used to have her used furniture store. A ragged old recliner covered with a blanket sat next to the stove.

A pot with hot water sat on top of the stove. I pored it into a cup with some chocolate powder and curled up in the blanket.

All warm and cozy in a dusty junk filled room, wrapped up in the warm blanket I sipped the hot chocolate and watched my favorite show on television.

I had left a bad abusive marriage with only the clothes on my back and a suitcase full of my oil paints. I was free, I was warm, I was at peace, and sitting there warm and comfortable, I thought:

"It doesn't get any better than this!"

I was in heaven. I had walked through a door to a new future. It was the first day of peace and the rest of my life.

And it does get better. flowerforyou

Describe your ideal heaven and your personal Hell here....

JB

Heaven is to read your posts
and see the genius of your mind
Hell would be to lose my sight
and to your typing I'd be blind

Heaven is to hear the thoughts
that you create with love and joy
Hell would be to read the dogma
that seeks your spirit to destroy

Heaven's in your lovely voice
and in the sparkle of your eyes
Hell is in religious creeds
and the freedom they despise

Heaven's in the friendliness
that you adoringly bequeath
Hell is in the churches
that preach a false belief

Heaven is to be with you
and share life's great rewards
Hell would be to join a cult
and force the 'word of god' with swords

Heaven's like the flower
that you wear upon your hair
Hell are those who hurt you
with the deception of a prayer

Heaven's in your liveliness
and in your giggle when you're glad
Hell is in the hearts of those
who would strive to make you sad

Heaven's in your spirit
and in the lovely things you do
Hell is in evangelists
and the angry hate they spew

Heaven's in your lovely scent
and the fragrance of a flower
Hell is in cathedrals
and the idols on their tower

Heaven's in your magick
and the incantations that you chant
Hell is in the clergy
and the evils that they rant

Heaven's just to be with you
just the way you are
Hell is in the 'guilt trip'
that will leave you with a scar

Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power" (2 Thessalonians 1:6-9).

False teachers who bring in "destructive heresies" will "bring on themselves swift destruction." It is foretold that "many will follow their destructive ways." But their judgment is sure to come. "For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment; and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly; and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly; and delivered righteous Lot" ... "-- then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment" (2 Peter 2:1-10).

Reference to the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah - Notice that although the physical cities were destroyed never to be rebuilt, the residents continue to suffer the vengeance of eternal fire.

In the Revelation we are warned that those who serve the devil and his comrades will also share in their eternal punishment.

"Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice,

'If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark (((666)))on his forehead or on his hand, he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength ....

...into the cup of His indignation. And he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name'" (Revelation 14:9-11).

"Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshipped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone" (Revelation 19:20).

"And the devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever" (Revelation 20:10).

"The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire" (Revelation 20:13-15).

"But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death" (Revelation 21:8).

Because of His love for mankind, Jesus warns us to avoid the fires of hell.

He also provides the only way of escape.

False teachers who bring in "destructive heresies" will "bring on themselves swift destruction." It is foretold that "many will follow their destructive ways."

Let's face it. The most destructive acts in history were performed by Christians.

Clearly the biblical doctrine is false. Since the followers of it have done nothing but destructive things themselves.

The people who murdered the American Indians were Christians.

The people who enslaved and destroyed the lives of the African natives that they brought to America were Christians.

The people who burned innocent naturalists at that stake as 'witches' were Christians.

Christianity has left nothing but a swath of destruction in it's path. And I haven't even mentioned the earlier history in Europe.

It's a merciless destructive religion and has not room to preach peace.

It's a self-condemned evil. :bigwink:

Jesus (if he was a real person) wouldn't even condone it if he were here today I'm sure.

There's nothing divine or holy in the history of Christianity. It's done nothing but murder in the name of God.

No offense Drewdrew, but were you frightened as a small child? The victim of religious terrorism?

Are you attempting to preach hell fire and spread religious terror upon the non-believers in the New Testament?

Not to worry. It is all a lie. A total fiction. You are obviously the victim of a religious terrorist.

God is good. flowerforyou

“The New Testament, the Church and Christianity, were all the creation of the Calpurnius Piso (pronounced Peso) family, who were Roman aristocrats. The New Testament and all the characters in it - Jesus, all the Josephs, all the Marys, all the disciples, apostles, Paul, John the Baptist - all are fictional. The Pisos created the story and the characters; they tied the story to a specific time and place in history; and they connected it with some peripheral actual people, such as the Herods, Gamaliel, the Roman procurators, etc. But Jesus and everyone involved with him were created (that is fictional!) characters.”
