Topic: Howard Stern exposes the Obama cult

Many people in the blogosphere and radio are speculating that voters support Barack Obama for purely superficial reasons and are not knowledgeable about his stated policies or what he will do if when elected.

Obama is certainly a made for TV presidential candidate and it appears that is why most people are going to vote for him. It is true his supporters can tell you much about his GQ good looks and his engaging speaking style. You can be sure to be informed that he will bring change. I suppose they mean change from the disastrous eight years of neocon rule. But when it comes to specifics on what kind of change the image becomes hazy and they mostly say, “he will end the war.” or “fix the economy.” If you attempt to inquire further to how this will be done you will be met with a blank stare.

It is amazing that Obama is able to pass as the peace candidate as Obama himself has said he is in favor of expanding the war in Afghanistan and entering a war with Pakistan. And in his speeches he frequently talks about how the young should enlist in the military and that women should be forced to register for the draft.

Obama supporters are caught up in a cult of personality and are not really aware of Barack’s real policies. To show people just how out of touch with reality most Obama supporters are Howard Stern had one of his flunkies go out into the streets of New York and interview Obama supporters on what they liked about his political policies. Specifically if they supported certain positions such as, keeping troops in Iraq, opposing abortion and stem cell research. They do.

The video reveals the disconnect between reality and the personality cult Obama has attracked. Each of the above policies belong to Barack’s opponent John McCain. The Obama supporters are so oblivious to the real state of American politics that they even believe Sarah Palin will make a fine Vice President for Barack Obama.

No disrespect intened, but I don't think this blows any holes in Obama's support. The only thing it really does is show the stupidity of the average American. The only thing Stern exposed was that most Americans don't really pay any attention to politics anymore, but if you put a microphone in front of their face, they'll answer questions about which they know nothing. Stern proved that an American is arrogant enough to think that a news blog counts towards their "fifteen minutes" and so they'll make up stuff if they have too. No one wants to look uninformed in front of a camera, so they'll say anything.

The sad thing is some of these people will still vote.

I think it blows a hole in the fact that alot of people don't seem to actually know what Obama stands for. They're just voting in a form of the Cult of Personality.

Thanks Drivin' I always try to be thought provoking...if nothing else.

I dont think its a cult following as much as people all know what the republican trickle down economics has done. I would say alot of it is what they feel is the lesser of two evils, they know what the countrys state is in..Personally I know there are people I would rather see elected but until we get rid of the two party system its not going to change..To call all people backing Obama a cult is off base.

I could not vehemently agree more.

Military service should absolutely be mandatory.
And I'm not talking about some Air National Guard pencil pushing either. If the spoiled rich kids of this bloated nation actually had to contribute something to this nations future I would throw an effing party...

I never said all Obama supporters are a cult, But they are following a cult of personality. If Obama got up there and presented his speeches, verbatium, like John Kerry... he'd be toast.

This administration has not been following Reagans trickle down, in fact, nothing the last 2 Bushes have done resemble anything Reagan did. Tell me what President in history has grown Government with as much furious, desperate speed than King George?

However, what Obama is proposing sounds to me, alot like the Republican standard of drill baby drill, except it's Spend, baby, spend.

McCain is no better, the difference between the two is where they're gonna do their spending... at the end of the day it's just more money made off the sweat of the American people and off the sacrifice of our childrens childrens childrens future.

I disagree. Soldiering and warring are not a qualification at any level for the presidency. I believe people on the outside of war see war much better than any involved because they can see both sides.

Or can they?

I believe war is an evil not understood by those who havent fought in it...

Does this mean you are unfit to declare war? No. But it does mean you might want to make DAMN sure that's what you want to do before declaring it. War should never involve politicians. (Well, only the declaration of it, and the ending of it.) The only guys that really understand, are on the ground, but even then it's a select few...

To say though, that one has a better view from their livingroom than another does on the ground, i find hard to swallow. I do see your point though. I just reflect back at people trying to convince me that the military targets civilians carelessly and casually, when i have seen, and risked my life just to double check targets. Hell we werent even alowed to fire BACK at someone if they were shooting at us from a mosque. So what i saw, and experienced, was different than what CNN was trying to tell me.

So i guess the the perfect world of unbiased media, some may have a better view of a war from home than another does from a living room, but once again, the media distorts WAY too much.

I dont necesarily disaprove of anyone that votes for Obama. What irritates me is that so many people think he will "change" us for the better...ill

Sure, MAYBE he is the lesser of two evils... But i would like anyone to bring up anything that he will change that will actually make much of a difference in our lifestyles...(for the better of course)

I saw him speak in St. Louis Saturday. I went to see him to understand more about him. About 100,000 people were listening with me.

Every time I see him speak and read what he has to offer, the more that I like him.

you are entitled to your (wrong lmao) opinion hehehe

and yes not all are equipped to be a soldier but not all in the military are ""soldiers"" per say

but i still ferminately believe a indentured military would be less likely to turn their weapons on the people

which i feel is one reason they discontinued the draft

but hey

what do i know

Lets get some reality into this...

Trickle down worked farily well... Tell about 2 years ago.

My gas prices started going up the day after the democrats got control of congress...

Whats up with that?

Make any one think... I doubt it.
When I ask an Obama supporter what his voting record is MOST OF THEM DON'T KNOW...

When I ask about particular bills most of them have no idea what I am talking about...

How can you even think you are voting for the good of our country if you have not taken the time to LEARN WHAT CONGRESS IS ACTUALLY DOING.

Go ahead... rely on the news... then you will know only what they want you to know.

When you wake up and realize that you have given away liberty...

I will be here to help you get it back.

You will find me clinging to my guns and my faith...

He was right on the war in Iraq. He is right that all Americans deserve access to health care and right in his pragmatic approach to meeting that goal. He is right on tax policy, infrastructure investment, energy policy and environmental issues. He is right about what he wants to do with education.

That's why.
