...was the oldest person that you ever dated? Was it uncomfortable? Awkward? Fun? What did you like or dislike about it? Is it more acceptable for an older man to date a younger woman? Or vice versa?

When I was 19, I met a 32 yr. old lady and we had a little thing. She was gorgeous and we had a great time together, Until I found out that she was married.
As much as my young hormones fought it, I ended it.

My ex he was 8 years older. But.....he does not look it at all matter of fact according to what I have seen on some pictures and in person he is 58 now and still looks younger then a lot of the ones I have seen in their middle to late 40's.

Uncomfortable no way never crossed my mind.

I was in my late 40's & the lady was in her early 60's.
Was a great time, distance was a problem.

When I was 24, I dated a woman of 40. She was great -- smart, funny, very generous and kind -- but had issues with her ex-husband and drinking. I had stopped drinking a couple years before this (not that I ever did a lot of it to begin with) but hadn't yet excluded drinkers as possible partners.

It didn't last but we stayed friends until she died. I actually dated two of her daughters later, at her suggestion -- although not both of them at the same time.

I actually met my ex-wife through one of the daughters.

There's a lesson in there somewhere.

8 yrs older
it was comfortable, not awkward...exciting
FUN

this is what i liked:
she was bright, ambitious, beautiful, successful and uninhibited

this was kind of a drag:
it was very hard to "date" because getting babysitting
was not easy for her two rambunctious pre-teen boys
fortunately her mom came to the rescue on many occasions

even though i was very mature for my age it was a bit
of an adjustment with the boys when i was only 22 at
the time but they were great kids really.

it is acceptable to care for anyone - as long as they
are a kind and good person. age doesn't mean much.

   Lexy... There sure is.

When I was 18 I dated a 30 year-old. When I was 32 I dated a 44 year-old. I also dated a 25 year-old right after I broke up with the 44 year-old. That was refreshing. Of course the 44 year-old was a Type A, republican, religious hypocrite who took Viagra without telling me. rant Anything would be refreshing after that.

I've only dated someone a couple years older. So, pretty close to my age. I'd probably go as much as 10 years, depending on the guy.

I have been leaning on dating younger guys lately. I dated a guy who I thought was 35, then found out he was 43. I will stick with younger.love

i feel awkward if theres even a 4 year difference. i tried talking to a woman around 32 - 34 when i was 20. made me feel like i was 14... plus i questioned if she liked me, or my age. it never went farther then talking.

everyone ive ever dated was my age, or a year younger due to birthdays.

I dated a woman that was supposedly 5 years older. I have my suspicion that she may have been older, like in the late 20s/early 30s. I was 19 at the time.

It was somewhat awkward, but I guess only because of my age at the time. I'm currently looking for an older woman right now too because I get along better with them then the younger ones.

My last ex was 12 years older than me.

Nothing wrong with it. Nothing particularly good either.

21 years older is the oldest that I have ever been with. It was neither uncomfortable nor awkward. I mean if it was, we would not have lasted for over a year.
