Hi everybody, just wanted to give you an update. I just found out this evening that not only is my youngest son going back over for his 6th tour the first of February, his wife is due to go back over in May. My oldest son is going over in June. I don't know how I'm going to handle having all three of them over there at the same time. Thank you, all, so much for your thoughts and prayers and friendship. It means more than you know.    I'm freaking speachless.No I'm not.. It's just bullsh*t..They just come home and now they are going back....BULL... I thought about this with Brett...That this may happen to him also.. This war needs to END..... Not in a pleasant mood.. I'm off... All my Love Journey....  hugs.. Suzanne...I just saw this post. I'm getting used to them sending them over. I don't like it...not ONE bit, but have to continue to be positive and support them like always. I agree with you that the war has to end, and it can't end fast enough for me, I can only imagine what our soldiers feel like. I have to say though that out of my youngest son's (OJ) six tours, he volunteered to go over for two of them, so that someone else in his group could stay home. One of his guys wives was due to have a baby and was having difficulties, and I can't remember the reason for the other, but it was equally important to him that they be able to stay home. I'm scared and concerned for him when he is over there, but am so proud at the same time. |

Oh Dear Lady...I am soo sorry for you  what is the deal with the powers that be ?  don't they have enough of your Family members ?  I didn't even think that they let brothers in combat together  let alone husbands and wives together oh, but the sons & daughters of those who call the shots never have to go ...  it makes me soooooooooooooooo sick ((Nessa)) Apparently the rules have changed regarding sons serving at the same time. And husbands and wives for that matter. My son and daughter in law were over there at the same time in 2007/2008, that's why I was in Arkansas keeping the kids for them. It's hard on everbody involved. The parents are overseas, the children are still here. When the children are so little they don't understand where mommy and daddy went. I told them that they were working far away, but that was a mistake. When they finally came home and had to go back to work on base, their youngest freaked out when they told him they had to go to work. Poor little guy thought they were going to leave him again! Thank God for technology though. My kids got to see their kids open their presents on Christmas morning over the computer webcams!! And their children got to wish them Merry Christmas! Not the same...I know, but better than nothing. |

Good morning all,just thought I would add my two cents to this Military thread because I can in some ways sure understand how regular peoples feel about the peoples who are serving in the military and have had to be sent overseas to serve & protect there country,it can indeed be very hard,but they are fighting for a cause that some believe in & that they are also fighting to protect their family's future.So,ya gotta give the service men & women their dues because in there families eyes,they are the True heroes of our times.

Oh, I am so proud to be your Friend Brenda You are truly an amazing lady so kind & loving & longsuffering & your Sons are just as incredibly fine as you are  what brave courage & incredible love your Sons have Your youngest one < OJ > who has been in the Military the longest is one totally badazz dude & such an amazing human being and your other Son who also picked up the Mighty Torch what an honor and blessing they both are to your Family and to Our Country i don't know much about your Daughter in Law except that her husband <Your Son > is also there and I know that they both have to leave their children to go serve their Country & i can't think of any higher calling on Earth than the one they respond so quickly to & the sacrifice they make is absolutely heart wrenching |

That is such a sad but incredibly beautiful  & noble story Yes, it is sad enough for Our Soldiers to have to leave their homes & familiar towns as it is let alone when they have to leave their Mothers, Fathers, Brothers, Sisters & Friends and when they have to see the looks on the faces of their innocent children who miss their parents who just don't understand why they are gone that must be the most painful of all for them and for the kids i am so glad  that i started this thread for you and the thread for Suzanne < Zanne46 > too for she is also our precious Sister & also going through hell with her Boy gone overseas so this is a special place for you to vent and a place where we could come and love you and offer our support and endless prayers & i am soo happy & relieved that your Sons  and Daughter in law got to see the Children open their presents on Christmas even if it was on webcam ~ thank God for that that must have been so special and soo precious |

Busy trying to find work and get myself settled. I hope I made the right decision. I'm having a hard time with this, but have to keep telling myself that this is right. I can't keep them forever. My sister told me that I have to "cut the apron strings". She's right, of course, but when your children are in harms way it is so hard to distance yourself from them. I have put them, all of them, into God's hands and have to trust in him to take care of them for me!! |

My sister told me that I have to "cut the apron strings". She's right, of course, but when your children are in harms way it is so hard to distance yourself from them. Oh Brenda.. .you are a fine & noble lady and making decisions regarding our Children are not easy choices , they never are !!! for they are tender matters of the heart and when your own children are in the midst of harm's way it makes it even more tender & soo hard to decide Everyone has to find a balance in life and this is where you are . ..so take a deep breath & hang in there and keep on keeping on with confidence knowing that you walk not this path alone. God is right there speaking to the very depths of our souls to help us make the absolute right choices and He will be there to help our Children whether we are there physically or not and that 's what we have been given , Sis our Lord Our Faith & our prayers  Which may not seem like much to the natural mind on a physical level but to the Infinite Mind & on a spiritual level They are exactly perfect & definitely All that we need |
