Yes. I have someone that we take care of those lonely nights for each other. Some times there is sex, sometimes we just need someone to sleep with and wake up next to. But we have no plans of a future together. And no, we are not in love and we have been doing this since, oh, February 2008?

We go to bbq's at my dad's house together, we are planning on taking a shared trip to Tulsa together when he has to do his "Weekend Warrior" stuff for the Air Force. (I am getting my own room).

We are good friends and fight just like good friends.

We just don't feel the emotional capacity towards each other as other people would.

We agreed before we even became friends that if we should end up having sex, that we would just be mature adults about it and just fill the needs and not go crazy in love. It's worked for 8 months now. Hell, we are lasting longer than my ex-boyfriend and I.

When I need someone to be emotionally attached to, I will find them. I do know that I do have someone I love, but we also do not speak of a future together YET, because he is being redeployed and he is pessimistic about coming home this time. I know in my heart he will come back, but he believes this time will be the fateful one. Ya know, it's hard enough to date a soldier, knowing they are going to get deployed, but when they are pessimistic, it makes it 10 times harder when they are gone.


Anyway, BTT, yes, some people are able to have emotionles ssex. And it helps on those cold, lonely Kansas nights...
