Topic: I see cowboys | |
---|---|
I told my friend that there are cowboys on this site.
She said the only real cowboys are 90 year old men with broken backs. Is that true? Are there any real cowboys left? And what exactly is a real cowboy anyway? |

Cowboys have gone wayside since the 1800s. Now there are only guys playing Halloween on a daily/weekly basis.

"Real" cowboys don't have internet access where they live.

Cowboys are guys that stand in the weather doing too much work, too far from home, for too little pay.
Hey that's me...I'm a cowboy Howdy Howdy Howdy |

I live in the middle of nowhere, where I assure you, there ARE still cowboys. However, as twilight put it, they don't have internet access, and if they did, they wouldn't know what to do with it! They are usually wonderful people, but technologically lacking. Still, they look great in their jeans!

I imagine there are a few ranchers and Pro Circut riders that would challenge that notion. Some were the first on the internet trying to compeate to keep the family farms/ranches. Lot cheaper than long distance or driving to town for every little thing.

One of the neatest gents that I've seen (on the internet) is a legend of the silver screen; an honest singing cowboy, and he lives on a ranch, etc. Last I heard, his feet were stove up and he lost one of his old dogs to coyotes. We used to play poker at the same table.
There are cowboys. Men who deal with the hard-knuckle daily facts of life without losing hold of the right way. Not likely to call themselves cowboys, I reckon. Just honest as dirt. |

So there are rodeo cowboys, ranchers and good ole boys. That means there are still cowboys out there. Yeeha.

As long as there is a state called Texas you will still find Cowboys as well as in many other states.

Yes there are definitely cowboys out there. It's a damn rough life though. I wouldn't wish it on anybody that I like.

Five is a demon. I KNEW IT! They tried to tell me it wasn't true, but I knew it was! |

the old definition may have gone by the wayside. Now atv's and dirtbikes are kinda normal. Tractors do the hard work of horses that must be cared for. So nowadays, in my opinion, even a dairy farmer has his foot in the boot, so to speak.

Yes, Virginia, there is a cowboy.

Dressin up
dressin up to certain good folk might mean a suit and a tie designer socks, a diamond ring or hair like the fourth of july! but out where we make a livin' tennis shoe dont fit the bill. they dont set too good in a stirrup, I reckon they never will. were mnore into spurs hats and leggins cause punchin cows aint all romance but cowboys clean up on occassion for wedding, a funeral,or a dance. the dress code for everyday cowboys aint changed since grandpa got wise, a good pair of boots, yer sunday hat and yer newest pair of levi's. Besides, deckin' a cowboy out in street shoes, a suit and tie would make as good impression As croutons on a cow pie!!! ~~Baxter Black~~ |
