Know a couple of folks who would argue with there being no cowboys. One is a cowboy the other is his wife.

I'm a thorough-bred
that's what she said in the back of my truck bed As I was gettin' buzzed on suds Out on some back country road. We where flying high Fining, whine, having ourselves a big and rich time And I was going, just about as far as she'd let me go. But her evaluation of my cowboy reputation Had me begging for slavation all night long So I took her out giggin frogs Introduced her to my old bird dog And sang her every Wilie Nelson song I could think of And we made love And I saddled up my horse and I ride into the city I make a lot of noise Cause the girls They are so pretty Riding up and down Broadway on my old stud Leroy And the girls say Save a horse, ride a cowboy. |

I live in NM now but have spent many years in various "out west" states and yes, there are real cowboys...and they aren't all 90 and grizzled, either. I confess that they aren't necessarily my tupe, but if you wanna hear a genuine "yes ma'am" - you need to find yourself a roper :)

Gotta quote a great song here guys..."It doesn't matter how you wear your hair....it's what's inside your head"
I was born and raised in rural Texas. Did plenty of ranch and oilfield work. Country is indeed a state of mind.....a good state at that. |
