here's some mizing tips...

buy your candy & soda ahead of time for a fraction of the cost, and bring a large purse

or, invest in a projector and play streaming movies from the internet for free. you can also smoke & drink this way bigsmile

i remember when my brother and i would go to a local "Wackers" store every other week end, & buy toys, and candy--for less than 50 cents.

then with the change from 50 cents; have enough to buy corn dogs, and a large root-beer at "Pops Drive-In" (on our way home.)

Back in the day when I first started to pay attention, gas and smokes were about the same price. The stations would post the price of smokes on signs like it was the gas price.
In the neighborhood of fifty cents.
Ah, the early 70's

I vowed to quit when it hit $2 a pack...

Gas was .89 a gallon.

My parents owned a Velari. You can't even find those on the road anymore, our neighbor had a Gremlin. My brother had a Javlin.

penny candy that cost a penny

OMG, when we were kids, my mom would give all five of us one dollar to spend on penny candy. THAT WAS 100 PIECES OF CANDY! shocked We'd be on a sugar rush for days!scared That's probably one of the reasons she only did it once a month. Man, I miss those days!sad

I remember when did almost require an act of God to get thru airport security. If your plane left at 1... getting there by noon was sufficient
