No doubt some people think that it won't matter who wins this Presidential election.

You may not like your choices, I don't, I wish I had better ones.

But we are left with the choices we have.

And whomever you pick, it will decide the direction this country will take in the next 4 years.

The choices are clear. The same path or a different path.

If you are satisfied with the same path that we have been going in the past 7 1/2 years, then pick McCain-Palin.

But if you want a different path, pick Obama-Biden.

By not voting you let others choose the path.

By voting for another candidate you risk taking away votes from the least objectionable choice between the Democratic and Republican tickets, and may just be throwing away your vote.

The choice is yours.

I say vote for what you can live with.

As messed up as everything is, it's gonna take one heck of a person to get us out of this mess.

I don't vote, and here is why: The Electoral College, what a washed up poor idea. What these few people can do is look at the majority votes and say "I don't like those votes" throw away the votes and vote against the majority. It really is the dumbest idea as opposed to a true Democracy where every vote is counted and the popular vote wins, here we have 538 representatives choosing for us after looking at votes. How do you think Bush got a second term? The Electoral College voted him into office for a second term against the popular votes hence why there was an uproar for a voting recount...he in fact did lose, but the brilliance that is the Electoral College thought it better for him to do another term.

I don't like the Electoral College either, and think it should be abolished.

The system need improvement, but I'm still going to vote, because it's a right denied to people in other countries and I still have that right.

So how do we communicate this desire to our legislators?

Wouldn't they be the ones to get that change made?

That is a start. Although we really should be doing our homework on our local government (Senators and Representitives) and voting the ones, that dont have the country's best interest in mind, out.

the choice is clear

1. an unproven pandering neophyte with lots of promises and no track record of delivering on them who has a gaffe-prone experienced highly partisan running mate.

2. a well known effective seasoned politician, war vet, with a record of combating waste fraud and abuse but who has sold himself out to the most radical bible toting conservatives with a running mate who is an unproven pandering neophyte.

yeehaw. bon-appetit!

I vote my conscience.

I haven't voted in years.

I won't.

I cannot justify one as a lesser evil over the other.

Until a candidate comes up that is principled and sways enough people from a grassroots local start and moves forward to the national conversation with clarity and honesty, I cannot allow myself to be complicit with my tacit approval.

I become the one that I vote for, and wear that person's responsibility and accountability.

I won't compromise my own integrity for some emotional appeal that stirs some form of digression in counter intuitive rage taking the form of tearing down someone distasteful by advancing someone's agenda that is less distasteful.

My ego is not big enough for that.

But I will irritate and instigate and annoy the very tactically pragmatic tendencies expressed by distraught emotions to bring thwem to the surface for all to see.

It's only fair that WE QUESTION OUR MOTIVES AS VOTERS AND TAXPAYERS AND CITIZENS.

I know the mantra decrying my position as disengenuous. To not vote means one has no right to critcze the voters and the representatives sent to government.

But who decreed that as conventional wisdom?

That is not wisdom, but another excuse to perpetuate distraught emotions unchecked.

For decades, we have known that there exists a "silent majority" in this nation and that this "silent majority" does not have a voice in the national conversation.

Neo Cons have tried to call us their own.

Evangelicals would like us to curr to their agenda and be complicitous with their own schemes.

NOT!!!!!!!!!

Democrats are afraid of us mobilizing in a coherent fashion.

Republicans only give us lip service because we are adamantly opposed to issues, doctrines and philosophies espoused by the left.

Even the libertarians want our support and call us half hearted and uncommitted to any constitutional cause.

anyway, we are not fooled by anything and are very aware of what is going on.

Temerity has its perfect place, but patience is a virtue.

I am learning how to wear my patience.

And temerity only breeds trouble for me. LOL

JMHO. straight talk this time.

peace, out.

by voting for either major party you are signing the quest book at the funeral of the bill of rights and the rest of the constitution

if you sit at home and do not vote you are pulling the rope that is hanging the bill of rights and the rest of the constitution out to dry and wither away

everyone eligible needs to vote even if they write in mickey mouse the people need to send s message we want representation for the people and that is not going to be with either major party in control

having said that

the true patriots for the people do not run because a true patriot would not join either major party -- because those that pay attention realize both parties are guilty of treason

and to run on another ticket seems futile because of those that think along the lines of the opening post
