It seems to me this "down to earth" term is something that is totally to interpretation but doesn't really mean anything. If this is the case, what does it mean when you assign literal meaning to it? Does that mean it's a flirting tool to those who use it? |

Down to earth to me is someone that is low key not into the material things of life but still enjoys good things. Laid back, honest, easy going and don't let the little things in life get to them. JMO

A lot of people say they're down-to-earth because they think it means that the force of gravity has the same effect on them as on everyone else...
In their view, I guess down-to-earth would be a pretty general term.
