i think someone who gets caught drinking and driving needs to serve their punishment

i lost my 18 month old baby cousin when some idiot drunk driver smashed in her others car.

i have no sympathy whatsoever and fully think they deserve all the time they get.

my brother ended up with one and he got it twice as bad from the military and it served him right.

don't drink, which would mean i don't drink and drive.

i know of a couple of people who HAVE been busted for DUI, and they pretty much got nailed to the wall. they got stuck with five-figure fines (up to ten-grand) and have even gotten their vehicles confiscated and (in one case) even served jail time.

not cool stuff by ANY means.

I don't drink, period. So I don't have to worry about that particular scenario ever arising.

Should have thought about that before you decided to booze it up and then get behind the wheel.

I hope it is life changing for you.
You've been given a second chance; you have not killed or maimed anyone with your actions.
Hopefully this is something that makes you look very hard at yourself and your actions before it's too late.
Be thankful it was only a weekend in jail and not a lifetime for killing an innocent bystander.
You have a lot to think about and some choices to make, I hope you make the right ones. flowerforyou

Its is a life changing thing..At least I hope it will be for you. Think of how lucky you truly are to not have killed innocent people.

My little brothers life was taken at 22 years old by a dumbass who decided to drive intoxicated...

he left behind a wife and 3 little girls. All who it effected in horrible horrible ways...

I dont ever ever under any circumstance drive after ive been drinking...1 beer , 2 beers, 5 beers...doesnt matter i walk!!!

If you're going to drink and drive, you should have to deal with whatever punishment you're given. I know a couple people who had them. Big fines and their licenses were suspended for quite a while.

Humm notice your in Texas all I can say is buck up and take it like a man. You will not get out of it in Texas!!! Be ready to loose a few thousand for that mistake and probation for a while.

Ohhh and not only that you can kiss any construction jobs where you drive a company truck or even a government job by by.

It is not worth it at all.

I had a DUI in San Diego in 1995.

Driving a motorhome with a .25BAC
I had no business driving and really didnt mean to be (it was the tequila) I mean thats WHY I bought a motor home, so I could drink all night and not drive

I had to quit drinking

Drank myself out of college, 4 yrs paid for, drank myself out of a marraige, jobs, friends.
Drove drunk and in a black-out more times than I count. Got busted once, summer of 78. 0.23 bal, bag O'weed in my front pocket. Did one night in jail. One yr probation. Remember this was 30 yrs ago. I was truely a menace to society.
Got sober Sept. 1981.
If you think you have a problem, you probably do.
Get help.
