why when someone says that do I automatically want to gouge my own eyes out with a spork? I was told today why I was single, by a friend who is married with 5 kids, and a friend who has been engaged for 3 years and has no intention of marrying the girl... "You expect too much" "You're criteria is too harsh" "You're too hard on people" "You arent' willing to train a man" "You hang out with younger people, you need to date an older man" "You'd rather go out with your friends then to actively pursue someone" My response was...."From what I've heard, you guys have someone and I still get laid more" The conversation was over then... Why does everyone want to FIX me? I'm not broken... It's actually "criterium" when used syntactically as above. |

well if people dont like u for being blunt and honest like then they arent worth much.... and if they have to argue who you are i guess its cause they dont have much going on in their life... everyone is different and even people are different at different times in their life so if they dont like it or have to ridicule its cause they may be jealous... or dont know how to be normal lmao!!! cause no one is perfect and what the hell is that anyway? be who u wanna be when you wanna be... and dont let no one cut u for that!!!! These are really good friends, they weren't argueing they were "helping" I just laughed and when I got in my last jab, that ended the "help session" They are really good people... the guy has helped me move, the woman has babysat for me... like the kind of friends you can tell "shut the f up" in one breath and "i love you man" in the next... Their intent was not malitious in any way...

Why does everyone want to FIX me? I'm not broken... I can totally identify with this -- I used to have several friends who felt I needed to be "fixed." Now I only have one, but she does a damn fine job compensating for all the others I got rid of. Some people just can't grasp, "This is who I am, and this is what I want, and this is what matters to me" unless it's in complete lockstep with their own beliefs and preferences. And that's a sad thing, but it's reality. |
