The motions of all these things ultimately come from the will of the gods. The connection between physical nature and the gods is intimate: the gods did not just create the universe, step back and observe but continue to reside and work within it.

So while some Wiccans speak of nature as a goddess, they are ultimately speaking of a powerful spiritual being, not trees.

No, my friend says she doesn't control hers. They just come when they come but they're not like yours. I really don't have any experience with what you're describing. Have you checked locally for someone who may know? I had a woman who was having poltergeist activity in her house and I helped her find a group locally that investigated such things. Not that that's your problem, I'm just thinking you need help from an actual person and may need to see someone.

Thats interesting Ruth. I personally always kind of made a connection (long before I had understanding of Pagan based spirituality) between the earth and its seasons as being cycles, much in the same way that a woman has cycles. It is a comparison that can be made. So in essence "the Goddess" is just the notion of something that will repeat itself cyclically through birth, life, death and renewal again just as the earth does through its 4 seasons. Of course you can always take that a step further and surmise that we are somehow "renewed" and given life again through the mother and that would be a fundamental understanding of the concept reincarnation. That is a comforting thought for some and worrisome for others. I find it interesting.
