I'm just going to keep posting random "witchy" information. If you want something else posted let me know. It would seem that a lot of people look at this thread and maybe they are interested in just reading what's posted. flowerforyou

I figure some of the stuff may spark some conversations as well. I am copying all this info off the net......so, if you disagree with something let's hear about it. flowerforyou

Athame (pronounced ath-am-ay) - A blunt ceremonial knife used in ritual to cut energy rather than physical items.

Human sexuality: Sexuality is valued, and regarded as a gift of the Goddess and God, to be engaged in with joy and responsibility, and without manipulation. Wiccans generally accept the findings of human sexuality researchers that there are three normal, natural, and unchosen sexual orientations: heterosexuality, homosexuality and bisexuality. Some Wiccans celebrate "the Great Rite" which involves ritual sexual intercourse.

Three-fold Law (a.k.a. the Law of Return) The law states that:
"All good that a person does to another returns three fold in this life; harm is also returned three fold."

This belief strongly motivates each Wiccan to avoid attempting to dominate, manipulate, control, or harm another person.

Hi nice to meet you too.

I'm more into Celtic Christianity, which is for lack of a better description, is nature based.

There was a website that someone posted just the other day, I think it was Tribo, or maybe Jeanniebean.

Anyway is was about the "lost gospels of Jesus". It claims to have found them in a Buddhist temple or something? I don't recall the details.

However, what I do remember clearly is that it claims that Jesus taught that all life is sacred, not just humans. They claim that he taught vegetarianism and not to eat meat. He was supposedly very much into all of nature.

It is claimed that someone didn't like this because they didn't want to give up eating meat. Plus they wanted to be able to claim that humans are superior to animals, whilst the lost gospels have Jesus claiming that all animals are spiritual.

Interesting stuff. Whether true or not, I think it makes a great tale. flowerforyou

I pretty sure it was Tribo or Jeannie, or maybe Bushiobilly. I can't remember who posted the link, but I wish I would have saved it.

Sorry if this was slightly off topic to the original thread. flowerforyou

Oh, still slightly off topic then, but I think I might have read that book. This is where his missing years between childhood and adulthood were supposed to have taken place. Traveling through Asia as a tradesman with his father.

Personally, I'm a pagan. Grew up in the methodist churches, went to baptist and fundamental ones when older. But read much on religion, world religions, and mythologies and came to some conclusions that didn't fit christianity, but did fit with paganism. Eventually, came to the decision that I was an eclectic pagan rather than anything more specific and just leave it at that.

I think I read that book too. Or parts of it. Jesus, The Missing Years........or something like that. Very interesting stuff.

The Mormons believe the native americans are related to a lost tribe from Israel and that Jesus visited them after his rebirth. Their proof is Indain cave paintings of a white bearded person.
My brother is Mormon and I always ask him how that happened.

I always figured just some European travelers washed up in central or south America. Japanese ships have been shipwrecked along the western shores of the Americas way back into the past.

It wouldn't surprise me that earlier European ships got washed out into the middle of the ocean and into the right ocean currents to take them to the carribean and to South the Americas.

The reliable tools that made crossing the Atlantic were only used in Europe fairly recently in the long view of history.

The problem with the cave paintings is that Jesus wasn't white.

If you practice magick where do you find it easiest for you to raise power? I go to the beach. I also cleanse and charge my tools at the beach so when I work at home I can still feel the effects of the ocean.

The last time I tried praticing magic at the beach the police came after me.
