log cabin out in the woods..peaceful easy feeling. close to nature, make your own trails,bonfires at night, lay in your yard and watch the stars ....run around naked and have a water baloon fight.... so id say...log cabin... now thats a good idea...except I'd have to start calling peccy bear bait then  see who can run faster !!!!! I could just picture the "chunky one" running through the woods screaming like a little girl...little legs going 100 mph  Jealousy...you just want to be like me...but you will never be the train

I know exactly what you mean. The house I live in is 4,000 sq. ft. with five bedrooms. It's on two acres of grass and woods and it takes me three hours on a riding tractor just to mow the lawn every week. My average utility bill is $400-$500 a month! So, I feel your pain!
I put my house up for sale three weeks ago in order to downsize. Once it sells, I'm going to build something that I've always dreamed about, a hexagonal house (more to the tune of 2,000 sq. ft.). Rent or buy again. There's no better time to buy than right now. The prices and interest rates don't get any better. It really depends on what you need, a permanent place or one where you're not committed to staying for any extended period of time. |

My house is also an older house and not very energy efficient. It is two story and a lot to clean. I was thinking of something on one level...3 bedroom...energy efficient...nota huge yard but big enough for a pool )can't have a pool here without alot of tree and root removal and moving a drain field. |

I been thinking of a motor home ...a smaller house on wheels The motor home provides you with the option of renting out your house. Map out intermediate locations for extended stays, so that motor home costs don't skyrocket. Use less expensive vehicles for getting around while the motor home is used as a base to operate out of. |
