most people know a little something about southern foods. not the chittlings and hawg jowles. i mean good ones like collard greens,, grits, purple hull peas, okra, and things of that nature. it gets funny to me when someone you just told your making black eyed peas looks at you like you just assaulted the veggies. but most people go nuts over a true southern dinner when they get the chance. anyone agree?

One of my ex's was from Texas (a rhyme?). Grits and chicken fried steak. Ummm, I'll stick to northern (Wisconsin) food. Bratwurst on the grill!

never had chocolate gravy,, but i can find out if its in my great grandmothers cookbook.. thats where i got alot of my cookin skills. ive been cooking southern for over 20 years, and i get alot of compliments on it. my fried turkey drives people nuts, beef tips and gravy gets fought over, and dont get me going on my tenderloins.

yah chocolate gravy

its a breakfast thing i grew up on... its cocoa powder milk water some butter sugar and flour.

it mixes up just like gravy

it gets poured over fresh biscuits. usually she served slab bacon with it and eggs
